Table Tennis

I didn't see a thread for this around so I thought i'd make one. I searched but nothing came up also. Anyway, any "ping pong" or table tennis players here? I started playing everyday for about the last year, but now that I graduated I don't have anywhere to play

It really sucks because I love it (about half as much as footbag, thats a lot) and cant afford a table. I really like the strategy of the game and it gives me some of that feeling that footbag does. Im ok at it but im not so good at making the ball spin upon serving and my backhand can be either great spot or my weak spot depending on the day. I really like trying to set up my opponents... I couldnt believe it one day I did the same move over and over to a friend, i served low and to the right corner, walked to the left side quickly and spiked it in his face at least 5 times (i knew he would hit it with that side of his hand making it go to the left) all about wits and strategy man, i love it. Though I guess when you play with people monday through friday rain, snow, or shine, for a school year it lets you know their habbits. VIVA LA TABLE TENNIS.

I've been playing ping pong consistently for about three years now nearly every day, and I'm pretty damned good to be honest. I have 5 different shots, a multitude of different spins, and my footwork is something to see. I'm considering moving to the East coast after Highschool and trying to make the pro circuit, because that would be the shit.

you could call me a "circle hacker" in the world of table tennis.
but i did once play against someone who was really really good. and i couldnt return one of his serves

insane amounts of spin made the ball come of my paddle weird.

Ive played in a couple of tournaments a while back. Had a table growing up, played for 4 years during college. I am almost as good at table Tennis as I am at footbag, but not quite.

Table Tennis is so much fun, but I've always thought it'd be tough being a pro because its one of those games everyone thinks they're great at. People'd be all "So what do you do?" "I'm a table tennis pro, I've competed at the olympcs and world champs." "Phht, I'm pretty good, I reckon I could give you a run for your money."
You'd get so sick of hearing it but would never get tired of whupping those chumps.
It its highest level its so intricate and fast at the same time, Its like speed chess only faster because of the incredible spin, which means you can only hit certain shots in reply to certain shots, and have to adapt so quickly and be thinking two shots ahead.

I need people who are good to play with, and people my level to challenege and maybe win and improve. It really sucks though no more table tennis for me cause i cant find any tables in town.

next to footbag ping pong is my favorite sport. i used to play with my dad like every day and now ill play my neighbor or other friends. if i were in CA id totally play you.

I built a table in my house!!

It is made out of a piece of 4' x 8' plywood with a wooden 'net'.

I know it is far from official dimensions and stuff but it still wicked fun!

move to china and be an english teacher. You can play table tennis all you like. Hey mosher, I got you beat on the table. The factory workers by my place created a table out of a concrete slab and the net is made of bricks.

I used to play quite a bit.
I am actually just looking into getting back into it since I have someone who is willing to play with me now. The hardest part is finding free tables. We used to have one when I was younger but it took up the entire room (it used to double as a second dining table for lbig dinners)... The Manitoba Table Tennis Association sends me newsletters and stuff, so I'm thinking of checking into some events or going to play where they play and learn or play with someone better than me.

All I know is that table tennis is one of those sports where I never want to stop playing! (Although it's similar for most raquet sports!!)

Yeah, I really like Raquetball. Upon searching I found a club about an hour and a half near me, and then theres a few other clubs a few hours away.

Racquetball is much better than table tennis (although I love it).

I play table tennis like I do racquetball, and the ball seems to go flying everytime. :\ Or I break it.

Yeah, I'm a blueblood. Racketball is for the working class.

I've played Squash in some of the nicest, most exclusive mens clubs in this nation. The nicest was probably the Metropolitan in DC, where I met Greenspan.
