angle of ankle
eright... so my clipper pretty much sux because of one thing, my foot can't stick the bag because my foot slants down too much, it can't be more "parallel" to the ground in order to catch the bag... so, are there any ankle stretches or things i can do in order to help this problem?

"Practice" is not helpful tip. You're wasting your time if you practice something the wrong way and don't realize it. There's a good chance you'll be developing bad habits instead of good form, bad habits you'll have to work hard to fix later. Telling Bryce to practice probably left him just as lost and frustrated as when he first started this thread.
You don't actually need that much ankle crank to do clippers. If you let the hip of your clipper leg drop down behind/below your support hip, your clipper leg will go more sideways, including your foot. It also makes it easier if you have your foot point down slightly and catch the bag towards the front of your foot, the front part of the laver "pocket". Also remember to turn your body so you catch the footbag in front of you, not to the side.

i curve my knees plenty, but that doesn't make my foot more parallel, it just brings my foot up higher *dude, pay attention*
-so i should be twisting my body, but facing the bag as i clipper?... my support leg is turned far away from the bag and a good distance to allow my body to turn enabling my other foot to clipdel the bag

proper clipper form ^^^
Also try this drill: walkover > slowly raise and lower clipper, holding crank as best you can. Hurts though. Learning clipper hurt the outside/top surface of my feet.

You haven't done 100,000 clippers yet have you?Spontaneous Spaz wrote:eright... so my clipper pretty much sux because of one thing...
check it:

look how unflat my clippers are. and I've landed millions and millions of clippers. I even hold a few world records... sebastien D's are worse than mine... AND HE FREEKIN RULEZ at footbag.
hitting clippers is about everything BUT clipper flattness... practice, support, angle, balance,ect...
Practice bro!

wtf are you talking about. of course crank matters A LOT. its the key to a straight set and easy catch. osis, swirl, torque.... your whole clipper game gets better as your crank increases.
imagine your clipper drop quote goes down from 10% to 1%. flat ankles ensure that. its the key to vaseks success btw. besides training and body type genetics - he wouldnt be just as good with worse crank. it means you can feel the bag and catch it with ease, the foot is like a claw around the bag then. nearly like catching it with your hand. say what you want.
i do strech them.... i think a lot of people with good crank cant imagine how it is with a bad one.
so guys, go on!
and its not about body postioning. this is tweaking, but u can tweak with good crank too, so its not dealing with it like your mentioning.
im testing different streches now. id like to hear from someone who could effectically increase his crank with streches.

I have used this method
things you need: 1 towel
1st. Take the towel and roll it up like a your going to hit someone with it
yeah buddy
2nd. Get in a good clipper stance.
3rd. Take the towel put it in a U shape and hook it around the upper part of the clipper ( by your toes )
4th. Pull and push down with your foot but dont hurt your self, you should feel a great stretch.
Note: be sure to have your shoes on when doing this
Welp thats what i do and it has made my crank 50% better over the last 2 months
Anyother tips?

I am so happy this thread got bumped. Great, great Engrish.
I also have mediocre to limited crank. It sucks. But you can still learn proper technique & hit those cross body tricks consistently. It'd be great to dial xbody basics quickly & move on, but I can't. So it goes.
Does anyone with (how shall I put this) actual credible knowledge have an opinion on ankle stretching? I am not interested in anecdotes or personal experience. No offense intended.

If you are simply looking for crank, work inside delay. Inside delay is harder than clipper as far as crank goes. You need more crank, so crank it up. Then crank it back down. Crank low you all. Crank it to the floor. Crank that ass up. You so cranky. I have some cranker sores. Crankadile Dundee.
