Newbs video: interested?

I want to put together a video featuring all new players. I'm the only newb I know around here, but I would love it if other new players could send me some video I could compile into a video. The finished product will be put in the video section if I can get enough interest to put it together. There is no level requirements. Even if the footage doesn't contain any strings or displays some awesome two adds send it in!!

I know this could go in the vid section as well and probably put a post there too later, but I'm just not sure new players read that section so I decided to post here as well

i would totally do this if my camera would work properly with my computer, the only way i can get it on the comp is to use the memory card thingy, and that makes bad resolution and only 20 seconds of film

Participate in the novice video comps! It's open to everyone! Even if your biggest move is 2 ADDs you should still participate. The winner of the prize each month is chosen randomly from all entrants. It's really fun

I look back at the tricks I submitted back in January and I laugh that those were my biggest moves then. Don't be intimidated by what other people are hitting, film your best moves and enter them. It's tons of fun, you'll be glad you did.

Hey, this is a good idea, Tricia! This will let other people see what some new footbaggers look like and how they play! I may consider doing this if I have time/can figure out how to work my camera

two problems..all I have is a webcam and I dont know if I am new.. I use to kick from the mid 80's for about 6 years but quit and I am now just getting back into it 16 years later so in a way I gues I am a nOOb

ya... being that i can pretty much only nail an atw, pixie, fairy, and maybe a mirage/pendulum or 2... it wouldn't be much of a video

and i dont think it matters too much if we can only do like 3 tricks, we are new we're not really expected to be throwing in huge 3 minute strings

Ok sorry I haven't gotten back to this sooner. It's great to hear what you guys think of this idea, but let me comment and answer a couple of questions.

First, to Spontaneous, I think it would be an amazing vid. You wouldn't be in it by yourself, that's the point. You can hit more moves than I can so I think it would be awesome to have you in this video. I've only been kicking a couple of months and some of you have been kicking longer- it's kind of a progression.

Also I think it'd be cool to have this vid to look back on when we are no longer newbs. Kind of a starting point. Plus I think it would be awesome if we did it together because, let's face it, chances are slim for us to get together and shred right now so it would be like having a session with everyone: a communal session if you will (cheezy? maybe...true? of course)

OK, and to those who don't have "long enough clips" send them in anyways. I'll mess with them and I'll make them look awesome with the magics of computer editing programs. Granted I'm new at this but I promise to spend a lot of time on the vid and make everyone look awesome. Believe me, there was a vid made of me with no strings at all, oposite a really awesome player, at first I was a little hesitant, but it was awesome to see everything put together to music.

So, in conclusion, please please please send me anything you have. If you can get it on a computer then it's good enough-I promise. No strings, short strings, funny looking strings- SEND IT!!!! I'll be there right besides you showing off my really short sad looking strings.

oh.. and plus, i don't have a digital cam-corder... i have an old 1995 tape one that sux and really can't tape over stuff... blah, as u can see, it might be kinda difficult to get me on tape

Ok boys and girls it's finally time to begin submitting video entries for the newb video I posted about forever ago

I'm really sorry I haven't gotten back to you all concerning this vid, but I've had a series of family emergencies that have kept me from kicking and computer projects. But now that school has started and I'm back in Champaign I'm back kicking full time (or at least as much as classes will allow) and am super excited to make this vid.

I know I heard back from some of you concerning some clips you may wish to contribute and others who said they would rather not. Either way if you have any questions, concerns, or song ideas please post here or PM me.

If you're all over this vid thing and already have some clips to send in please e-mail me at [email protected] Within the e-mail please include your name, a nick name if you'd like it to appear in the vid, and your location. I'd like to include this info in your portion of the vid. Also if you don't have a clip yet but would like to submit some at a later date please let me know that too.

I'm really excited to hear from you all. I promise not to disapear again :0D

yay!! When you send it in please include who is who. For example Ben is wearing the red shirt- just so I don't mix anyone up.

I like the idea about putting the moves on the bottom of the screen. I'll def. give that a try when I start getting clips and see how it looks.

I'd be glad to hear any more ideas concerning editing or musical ideas. If you send some footage in and would like to see a certain song accompany your portion let me know. I'll def. try and honor anything you guys would like to see. It's your vid. too after all. So please keep the comments comming

No I don't care if you don't wear a shirt, though I probably will be.

Just be sure when you send the vid clips in to let me know somehow who is who.
