1. Aleksi Airinen - Nemesis
Hold up, the big boys have arrived! Double down was thin but still there, other than that it was awesome
Props.
2. Anssi Sundberg - Pdx Fluxscrew
Damn that's nice! Super hard trick, unfortunately very hard to see if the illusion is clean
Pretty sure it's there though.
3. Michal Biarda - Quantum Ducking Symposium Mirage
Damn nice
The duck looked like it could have been more with the neck, less with the head, but that's getting nitpicky
props.
4. Jamieson Hickingbotham - Atomic Vortex
Nice set, but not enough spin, meaning the drifter was rushed, meaning you could have caught it better. Also you're a n00b. But you have sexy abs. baby.
5. Josh Gayhart - Blazing Dyno
Ahhh, beautiful! Unique and very well executed, props.
6. Riku Ahola - Blurry Reaper
Very nice move
Well executed too, maybe reaper dexes a bit deeper but again, nitpicking
7. Toby Suggate - Torquescrew
Very clean! Nice nice, props.
8. Bjoern Seifert - Pixie Ducking Symposium Reverse Whirl
Nice. All clean, just a little more control needed
9. Gray Chadwick - Voodoo
Sweet move
Clean dexes, delay could have been better.
10. Serge Kaldany - Nuclear op Muted Swirl
Daiimn, cool. Nice nuke set, hard to see cleanliness of swirl from that angle but it looks like it's there
No seal
11. Matt Coffman - GYBAS
Nice execution, nice trick.
12. Samu Ahola - Marius
Spin and dex were clean, but osis needs improvement.
13. Tuomas Riisalo - Blurry Symposium Torque
Sweet move, but the osis is bleh
And no seal
14. Nic Bathgate - Gangsta Party
Duck very thin
Hard to see if the blender is clean or not
Clean spin though, and the no sealing doesn't really bother me, it was a high straight set and you fumbled it, so what? This is footbag not handbag.
15. Tony Whitney - Phoenix
Very well executed, but easy trick.
16. Kyle Hewitt - Phoenix
A deeper pixie set and a little more control.
17. Phil Morrison - Pendulous set Spinning Blind Pincher
Hehe, nice! Cool to see some different stuff in there, Janis would be proud.
18. Lee Van Sickle - Pixie Ducking Symposium Swirling Osis
Awesome unique trick! Probably the coolest in here, unfortunately the swirl was very thin, maybe not even there at all. Osis could have been a lil better too.
19. Ben Rinowski - PS DLO
Sorry man
Massive turn on that, I'd say it's closer to 180 than 90, can't say that's very clean.
Some real quality this time around, props to all. Hopefully I'll have a chance to check out the other comps, but mighty busy the next two weeks

I didn't even use a bag for my entry!! Lol, jk but you can't see the bag at all in my vid. I tried to get Nic not to submit it, but alas. Can someone at least tell me if my form is decent in their judging comments, I don't mind being last at all. Oh, and good job everyone else!caseyweed wrote:So I take it that none of the Novice Comps are going to be judged?

Nic, I put unsealed tricks at the end of my list because for me it's not a valid entry for the competition. People have 2 months of trying and sending us an unsealed move is kinda lame. I'm not saying unsealed Gangsta Party is easier than Phoenix, though.
About this Pendulum thing. Pendulum is a one trick and Spinning Blind Pincher (in my opinion there are no Spinning there but whatever) is the second one. It's a really nice combination but this is a Big One Competition, not Big Two. Remember Henry's Stepping Inside Kick Torque or something like that?

toe > bs alpine toe blur.
That's two tricks. I think that's lame. It's a Big One Competition not Big Two. You should set your quantum sets from your hand.

Someone create this rule that Pendulum is a separate trick and we can't say "Oh, I think it's a one move so I rank it high". Imagine Pendulum > Pendulum > Pendulum > Spinning Blind Pincher. If Pendulum wasn't a separate move the combo I wrote would be a one move! Still props for Phil for this nice looking and hard thing.

Max, a trick starts with a delay (sometimes with a kick), so I hit Toe set Beta Alpine Toe Blur and he hits Behind Your Body Toe set Spinning Blind Pincher
.
PS. I'm not an official judge
.
PPS. Max, imagine that I catch the bag from hand on Legover and then hit Beta Alpine Toe Blur. Looking on it like you're looking on Phil's "move" will give us a Legover Quantum Ducking Symposium Mirage!

Although a valid discussion, this is not the place for it. Make a new topic.
I was unsure of whether to place unsealed tricks last or not, I decided to look at the merits of each. Nic's: a fumble, the lack of seal had nothing to do with the set from the trick itself. Some others: just plain unsealed.
Ranking something like this is so hard
Note to self: Never be a judge.

Hey, that was only my opinion. You don't have to be an ashole if someone didn't agree with youMadMax wrote:two separate moves?!
stop using your head only for ducks.
I wrote already all what I wanted to write on this topic here. If someone wants to discuss, feel free to send me a PM or make a new topic.

so here they are.

Props yo! The execution was really good on all of the moves. I've seen a few blurriests in the time I've played footbag and that was definitely the cleanest one I've seen. Perhaps that's why they didn't make it into the comps, I think they were only accepting sketchy unsealed stufffunklovesfootbag wrote:I thought I submitted sick 1 and sick 3 entries for myself and bluntobject, but they weren't includedso here they are.

That is where all the competition vids are stored
Really sorry about that bro, I was pissed off because you had an entry for Emily too and we almost never see girls enter these competitions, I was looking forward to that changing. For some reason, I when I finally manged to download some media from your email, nothing I used could read it or recognise it as video, and I have a lot of conversion utils/media players so that is wierdfunklovesfootbag wrote:I thought I submitted sick 1 and sick 3 entries for myself and bluntobject, but they weren't includedso here they are.

Another user PMed me (Joshua Rose) about his entrys not being included, I haven't had time to investigate this yet but will asap! All I can say is i'm sorry and I tried my very best to get everyone in, but the system this month wasn't as through as other months as I didn't expect to be editing any events myself and it's quite a complicated task for the editors to download every entry from the email address and be sure not to miss any!
So far there have been no official judges post their ranking, everyone is just posting what they think it should be!caseyweed wrote:So I take it that none of the Novice Comps are going to be judged?
I encourage the novices to rank the novice competitions! It's good experiance at recognising which moves are harder than what etc, I will make an effort to have some of my projections up about novice comps toward the end of this week
Watch the novice comps! They are cool too
EDIT:
The differance is that stepping knee bump torque has a contact in the middle of it making it 2 moves. Pendulous spinning blind pincher has no contact apart from during the pendulum set and the pincher catch === 1 move.Cod wrote:About this Pendulum thing. If you don't think pendulous is a set go talk to Evan Lovely
As for unsealed tricks not being counted... in my opinion (probably noboday else agrees) a trick should be judged on the set out of the move and NOT the seal.
Why?
I can do a really bad set out (Like josh gayharts entry last month) and still seal it if I run after the bag, and in your opinion that counts more than my gangsta party (for example) which had a high stright set out and a missed handcatch (from unexpectedness).
I think saying "oh he sealed it so it must have been a good set out" is complete bollocks, you should just hit the problem at it's core... judge the set out?
Right, lol ive probably missed my bus now!
DOH!
