Regis wrote:(paraphrase) This episode shows the acts from California and the western US

Lon won't be on. It was fun to see him in the audience though. I can't say that I'm surprised Lon's show didn't get aired, but I'm dissapointed by the fact that there weren't any footbag clips in any of the little 'backstage' highlight reels that went on. I guess they only wanted to show acts that would eventually be on air.

Nice work Lon!

Yeah, Footbag is pretty boring to watch.

America's Got Entertainment would be a better name.

If you didn't like the show, don't keep watching it.

I probably won't be on. I'm kinda releived because I'm such a dufus that they could have made me look real bad. Like they did to many of the acts. Only 1 or 2 of the acts were shown in full. If I were to have been on the show they probably would have shown me drop it and then cut to the mean Brit Judge dissin' me. They even Cut Off Rappin' Granny's Best Verse!!!!!!!!!! How stupid is that?! She was badass but barely seemed impressive after they cut off her best verse.

Ya, wtf!

I saw the whole clip on the internet and was disappointed when they didn't play it on the show.

What bothered me was how much they pushed the OMG PRIZE MONEYS aspect. Like, the fucking balloon artist? "You guys will see me and think, 'that guy deserves a million dollars,' I'm that talented."

I'd say that the coolest 90% of the acts had motivation similar to Lon's - just wanting exposure for whatever whacked out hobby they have. Of course, the most successful 10% will be the acts who are motivated by fame and fortune.

It's double standards, man! I bet if Lon were a 10 year old girl, or a 76 year old man, they would've passed him through...
Josh Gayhart ... keeping footbag tuff since 2002.

I have to say as soon as I saw a commercial for this show I thought the same thing as many of you have said "oh man such an opportunity for a great footbagger to showcase some of the sport". It's extremely disappointing that Lon was never shown. In my opinion (biased though it obviously is) footbag is one of THE most impressive things to watch even if you lack the trained eyes necessary to understand just what he would be doing. It's not like I expected some stupid reality TV show to suddenly break footbag into the mainstream, but having it blantantly shunned from the competition is disheartening as best.

This event truely makes me never want to watch TV. That and David Hasselhoff can eat shit and die.

shredzilla wrote:Eh, the show blew ass. It's just another lame ass reality show, except in this one a lot of the people actually DO have talent. And they're judged by Moesha, Baywatch dude, and some wanna be Simon Cowl(sp).

After seeing how bad it was, I'm almost kinda glad I didn't see Lon up there getting dissed by people who don't have any talent except for reading lines from a page.
You can tell that it is producded by Simon Cowell because it is so close to American Idol its not even funny. It reminds me of a mix of Let's Make A Deal, American Idol, and The Gong Show

The Office is ok but the original one is the best!
