Lehmann is THE Iceman, he had a feeling of each penalty's direction and blocked two of them!

Yeah, it was great. By the way, it was Ballack who passed the ball, Borowski continued with head and finally Klose put it in the net.

Did anyone catch what the hell happened after the last (Cambiasso's) penalty? The Argentinians got furious about something, was someone provoking them? The commentators noticed Oliver Bierhoff (manager of team Germany and a national team player in the 90s) there and wondered what the heck he was doing there...

you guys just cant immagine whats happening here on the streets, thats just awesome, everyone is cheering and partiing. i dont like soccer that much, but i went out with my buddys to watch the game, and we got drunk, we made the loudest tv house of em all, and we got crazy over lehmann, and it was just wicked. how do i wish i dont have too work tomorrow... damn morning shift, so i have too go too bed instead of party out with all the great guys, lots of strangers hugged each other, it was intense,m and great, i wish germany would be like that every day...

oh and...

deutschland wird wieder weltmeister sein...*gröl* deutschland deutschland werden wir schreien...

germany gets the bowl, no matter what opponet gets in our way, italy in ahlf finals, no chnace, we bash them good, then maybe brazil or england, england : germany would be my dream final.

:D:D I'm so glad Germany won. They're the team I'm hoping wins it all, though I really didn't know how they'd do against Argentina. Had the Argentinian goalie not been injured that game might have turned out differently.

I don't really believe that. The second goalkeeper didn't have any chance to Klose's goal or to any of the penalties - maybe outstanding hunches of the direction of the ball, but every other goalkeeper would have had troubles with saving them too.
Except Lehmann.

the big newspaaer made lehmann "our own hand of god"...haha, i´d love too see the reactions of maradonna on that game, he wasnt in the stadion, dont realy know why, maybe he knew that they will loose...

and i agree tzoo the fact that we might owe it all too argentinias keeper, i am not realy sure if the second guy even was a keeper...

I thought the announcers said he was usually a forward but had been trained to be a second keep. I'm not sure on that one though; I might have misheard.

EDIT: Dang, I hate when games end in shootouts. I'm glad Portugal won, though, because they really outplayed England. I just wish Christiano Ronaldo hadn't scored the winning shot, cause he was being whiny and taking dives all game.

wtf, i cant belive it... f***ing püortugal won...these wimpy´s... diving all time, provoking cards and fouls for the others, palying theater all the time instead of playing soccer... no way, that ruins my bet for the final... germany england... but, damn, that keeper is one hell of a man. 3 penaltys is tough, i hope brazil kicks them in the semis cause i dont wanna see portugal against germany...

Yeah, now that England and Brazil are out, I officially no longer have any interest in the World Cup.

Just in general, I think PKs are a terrible way to decide the outcome of a game. That, plus the officiating, are my two biggest problems with World Cup, and why I can never get too excited about it.

even though i don't like portugal because of how cheaply they play, i'm so happy that england lost. i can't stand the english.

i really didn't care who won the brazil-france game. People had too high of expectations for them because they won the last world cup and they have the best strikers. No one took notice to their midfield and how weak it was because they had an easy round 1 pool. It started to really show against ghana but ghana just couldn't seal their goals. Why do think brazil was playing 4-5-1 today? They weren't prepared for a team with an offence at all. And france has those very experienced players that i knew would just tear apart brazil.

anyways, i hope france beats portugal cause i don't like portugals playing style and i want germany to beat italy cause they play the same way as well. And i like germany more the france, so go germany!

Brazil got what they deserved.
Zidane pulled out tricks with a passion of a school boy, did you see his grin there?

What I hate the most in football is DIVING. It's disgusting and sad to see that when the best goal scorers in the world reach the penalty box, they don't even try to score but wait until someone comes tripping them. Or at least touch them, so that they'd have an excuse to fall down, take a glance at the referee and have ??? on their face because they didn't get the penalty.
And if they do get the penalty the rest of the team come to celebrate the diver's "accomplishment" like he had actually scored.

Yes, I'm still angry about Italy's gift penalty in the Australia game but yesterday Ronaldo dived AT LEAST three times in places where he could have scored. He really should have went and scored - Brazil had like one opportunity in the game; Robinho's left-foot kick which didn't even go close to the goal. Maybe it wasn't a smart move to put Ronaldinho next to Ronaldo in the forward: Brazil didn't have anyone in the midfield to give passes to them. Juninho was okay but he seemed to be defending more than attacking.

I'm actually glad that France won, they really were a team. Waiting for Germany - France in the final.

Yeah France have really surprised me, at one stage they didnt even look like qualifying for the second round.

But i think Portugal for this one. That coach of theirs scares me......(lol he coached brazil to win 2002)

i´d agree too you, i too was cheering for france, but, when they go against germany they just cant win, german palyers are too fast and too hungry for frances old boys. but if itlay cheats his way too finals then i am totally for france!

i havent posted here in a while, but here i am a diehard england fan watching rooney get *i think from what i saw* unfairly sent off and england did just edge portugal, to lose on pks, like akwyas, england lose on pks so mad a sven, what a horrible coach he was i even cried a little after the game, and damn portugal dive waaay to much, and i hate ronaldo,as does everyone else in england haha. also i hate pks why not just golden goal forever yeah you'd have longer games, but it's the team with the balls to go on the offensive that wins! yeah england played pretty badly this world cup, and due to terrible managerial desicions we weren't gonna get far anyways but oh well. now beckhams standing down as captain, probably wont make it to euros maybe terry new captain? he deserves it gah now for pessmism to set in for the next 2 years untill euros..sigh
