Blurry Illusion (Blizzard)

Blurry Illusion (Blizzard)
CLIP > OP IN [DEX] >> OP OUT [PDX][DEX] > OP TOE [DEL]

I don't know jobs so I won't even attempt but Blizzard is a Blurry Illusion (Stepping Pdx Illusion).

I've been trying this move for the past week or so and I've come extremely close to hitting it on both sides however, something just doesn't feel right about the move. Once I hit a clean step I tend to over-dex and whack the side of the non-dexing leg (sometimes hard...I'm still bruised from last seesion) It also doesn't help that with my steps some days I can hit ripwalk and blur like mirage or butterfly and sometimes it just won't happen at all. Really though I'm merely curious to see what kind of advice you all may have for the pdx illusion part of it. Though I know I'll hit it eventually one way or another :) Determination FTW.

Firstly, how are your Pdx illusion's in general? To avoid overdexing try having your knee pointing outwards during the illusion dex to avoid hitting your leg. At the same time make sure you actually dex it because the more out the knee is it is harder to clean the dex.

Unfortunately for tricks like these there aren't any super duper tips to give out other than the small tips i just did.

To get better at this trick i'd suggest practicing
-Consecutive Illusions
- Pdx illusions
-Have a good stepping set, hitting blur and having a good set high enough so you are comfortable

If you are good at Pixie sets too it wouldn't hurt also to practice Smudge (Pixie op illusion)

Good luck, you will have it down in no time

Well my pdx illusions are decent I guess....certainly nothing to brag about but I can hit it with fair regularity on both sides. The suggestion about smudge sounds good but unfortunately my flip Pixie is next to worthless.

Anyway thanks for the help I'll come post again if I hit it sometimes soon :)

Ahhhhhhh damn this move I'm going to destroy it. Last session I tried 3-4 dozen times and I tapped it both sides! It's so frustrating but.... I WILL HIT IT.

When I do them;

I think about a nice set.
After setting my thought is to get the step out of the way.
After that, I set my leg for the pdx illusioning dex.
**there is a split second after i get ready for the dex and before I do it, in this split second I notice where the bag is in relation to me and my leg.
I concentrate on the second dex and posture for the rest of the trick.

But yeah like Alex said, if you school stepping, illusioning and p illusioning, you should have no problem.

Good luck,
TJ

Kind of slow in response but thanks for all the help....I had to just give up on the trick for a month or so and school illusions and stepping. I've hit it several times this week and during my session today I hit it BSOS :)

This is exactly it I've had to drill Illusions for hours and hours...then Pdx Illusions for hours and hours and finally stepping for hours and hours... It's worth it though :) And not to blow my own horn (or derail the thread) but I hit another trick today that I've been trying for 4+ months: dimwalk swirl!
