Wow, that Portugal-France game was terrible! 8O So many people just flopping like fish. It's like nobody has any pride anymore. I can't believe France won on a penaty kick, for such a non-existent penalty. Way to decide the game by flopping and getting the call! :? What a travesty.

My god, stole the words right out of my fingers O_o.

I've heard and seen both of these teams dive before, and I knew a game like this could result, but I didn't expect it in the fucking semifinals.

And to repeat what Mr. Somolinos so graciously mentioned:

"It's like nobody has pride anymore."

Italy lost the 98 cup to brazil on a wack penalty kick (baggio i think), so I hope they win this time.

It was 1994 when Italy lost to Brazil, in 1998 France beat Brazil in the finals.

*I was summer-cottaging for a couple of days. The TV there is a 14", you can't basically even see the ball. So, thank goodness my aunt's family lives so close to our cottage - they've got a huge screen in their living room! My neck still hurts because the couch was so close to the screen that I had to look almost straight up.*

Germany didn't seem to want the victory, they played too lazily. I'm sad they lost, though. And I hope too that Klinsmann will be allowed to continue coaching! :D
Talking about the whole Team Italy as a bunch of floppers is wrong, if you don't make a difference between the rest and FABIO CANNAVARO. God damn it he's a footballer! 8O If the rest of the defence was sleeping, Cannavaro was every time the man to save their day. I'd say Italy is the biggest favorite in the final although I think I'll go with France.

Germany - The Whiners in the bronze match.

Non-existent? Come on! Carvalho clearly hits Henry's leg without touching the ball. Henry doesn't fall down at that point, he just steps on Carvalho's foot while going for the ball, and that's what makes him fall down. May be the fall was exaggerated, but you can't say he simulated it.

The foul is irrefutably existent!

May be I was just blind yesterday because I'm cheering for France, but from what I saw, the simulating and 'flopping like fish' part was exclusively done by Portuguese players. That was plain irritating.. Portugal had more chances than France, but they clearly deserved to win because of the shameful way some Portuguese played last night.. C. Ronaldo deserved at least 6 yellow cards for simulation and Postiga a couple too...
But if anybody has examples of French players simulating, I would gladly look at it again and change opinions..

WE'RE IN FINALS!!!!!!!!! :D

i second that, i could have hit scolari with a chair or something as heavy as that as he complained about the referee skills. of course the referee wasn't that good as always when fifa is involved, but there should have been much more yellow/red cards for portugal imo (e.g. figo vs. zidane, ball was long gone, or one harsh foul done to ribbery).
france deserved to win (hopefully they win the final).

Is anybody surprised the semi's sucked with countries like Italy, France, and Portugal? Germany was the only country worth rooting for.

My friend had pointed out that a lot less cards are being handed out in the final games. He though that possibly that fifa talked with the refs.

I'm glad Germany got the bronze.

Germany got the bronze? They're supposed to play Portugal in 6 hours for the bronze, I thought.

LOL

The simulation rule needs to be tightened up, but if thats the case half the team's players would get yellow's all the time :? As beautiful as the sport of soccer is, the players have no dignity. Except Rooney

YESSSSS! This is the perfect way for it to end. I think I said before, but I had hoped Germany wouldn't win the tournament-- I don't like the host winning because it feels like a hollow victory. This way, Germany got to go out with a win. Kahn played awesome, and Schweinsteiger... holy crap.
Portugal dives so much that I'm almost as happy they lost as I am that Germany won. Too bad for Ricardo though, that guy is an amazing keep.

i am so happy that they kicked seriously ass. schweini had the best game ever, three goals, if the second one wouldnt have been a selfgoal by petit this would have been the first ever world cupo hattrik.

it great too see that cristiano ronaldo, this cocky little wimpy got out of the tournament without a goal, and basicly without a single good scene. it was so ashaming how he cried because he wasnt awarded best youngster... well, they could have made him diving queen or something...

i am a bit uncertain who too cheer for tomorrow, but i think i will just enjoy the game and be for noone. :)

I'll be sideless for the game tomorrow, but I was definitely rooting for Germany today. I hated Portugals team with a passion, except for their talented keeper. The rest of those guys are just perky little youngsters that think they're hot shit. I thought it was funny that after Germany knocked their third goal in, Portugal stopped bullshittin' around and started playing real soccer.

OH! I have an idea! Maybe if Portugal actually tried winning fairly, they'd get something higher than fourth place~!

Up yours to all the divers in the World Cup. I say this in general because there are too many to name this summer.

It seems like all the posts I've made so far have been really negative...oh well, not my fault.

All hostility aside, Germany did a great job, and I think Ukraine is my second fav.

whoa! havent posted in here in a while

...

today i am going to be cheering for France. Mainly because Zidane plays for them, and I think he is an amazing player. He's also retiring after this world cup.

But the only thing that scares me, is how much barthez sucks fucking huge monkey balls! and im pretty sure most of you will agree with me on that.
my cousin made a joke about him, that barthez was probably born without fingers .. that he just has fists

however france have a pretty damn good defense. and the there's ribery, who's been pretty damn good.

...
italy also has loads of stars, and like portugal loves to dive :D
they have a lot of great players ... and they have buffon.
who i think is one of the best goalies around.
comparing buffon to barthez, is like comparing steak to a bread crumb.

...

it should be a good game

GO FRANCE!
