I forget if we had a thread about canned beer a while ago.

Here's a new one:

Here's a website for a brewery that puts out some dank beers in cans, because cans are good sometimes. They got 3 beers , in cans that are 6% or higher.

I just tried the Dale's Pale Ale today, it's pretty good.
I'll try the Chub next.

I like decent beers that come in cans, because cans are handy for transporting, wont break like a bottle... exactly the same bonuses that the website says.

Other mostly non-piss beers that can be gotten in a can:

Newcastle
Guiness
Boddington Pub Ale
Heineken(12 and 24oz cans)
Becks (16 oz) (yeah, Becks is kinda pissy)
Murphy's Red Ale (don't overdo it or you'll barf)

I forget a few others.

Old Chub is toxic and nasty. It comes in extra-large cans, too, if I remember right. And it's, like, 8% or something retarded like that.

I've seen the pony-keg size cans of Grolsch,but never seen smaller cans.
Wish I did cuz I like Grolsch better than Heineken.

I think good beer in a can is an oxymoron.

I just wanted to comment re: Fosters. It's important to realise that Fosters beer is brewed in six different countries around the world and the fosters that we drink in Australia is brewed in Australia while the fosters that other people drink is brewed somewhere else. Fosters is like the opposite of Guinness - it's crap in the country of origin and possibly good everywhere else (I've never drunk foreign Fosters or Irish Guinness - so I'm just going by people's reports). In general the quality of beers that are exported is better than the quality of that same beer in its country of origin. Of course as I've just mentioned Guinness and Fosters aren't really exported - they're brewed overseas apparantly using the same recipe although a lot of people claim from experience that this is false.

That's stupid though, we should brew it here and export, more jobs for aussies. oh well. I want to go to Ireland one day and drink guinness.

Because you're drinking off metal - hence the yucky metalic taste. Maybe there is even some leeching of heavy metals into the beer or something (I don't know - I'm just speaking out of my arse). Also beer in cans goes stale way quicker. I don't know why this is - just a lot of the beer I've had from cans has been stale. Maybe cans aren't as air tight as bottles? I don't know my but my experience of canned beer is stale and metalic tasting. Beer should be drunk pored out of bottle or keg into a glass.

yeah but you tend not to drink directly out of them. I thought I made it clear that the comment about metals leeching into the beer was bullshit - but drinking off metal is definitely different.

edit: Also kegs are made out of thick expensive metal while beer cans are made out of cheap thin metal which I can crush with my bare hands. That could mean something...
