The shoe design is decent, but with the rounded toe and the obscene weight of the shoe (all Converses are heavy), I thought they'll do you well. Plus, the soles are shit. With intense play the soles will die faster than Lavers, and the support glued to the sole will rip out. Lavers have a better foundation.

Maybe I should make a visit to Ben Rea and show him the light.

Anyway, props on the moves you've hit. Make sure you do them clean and with proper form.

NO NO NO NO NO. THESE SHOES DO NOT HAVE A ROUNDED TOE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MODED WITH THE LACING. THEY ARE SUPER LIGHT AND HAVE YOU EVER SEEN MORE THAN ONE KIND OF CONVERSE???!!!!! THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MODELS!!!! NOT JUST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! and i dont know what the hell you are talking about with the soles, they are fine and they dont rip out!

Ben, there's nothing wrong with your noble attempts at finding a good freestyle shoe, but you're kind of reinventing the wheel. If you want lavers, and you have the money, go to www.worldfootbag.com and call their 800 number. you can call them and order by phone so that you don't have to put your number on the internet. Too bad about that virus. Those look like stylin shoes, are they too modded to be worn for fashion?

Not to be grilling on your shoe insight, but I used to be a converse player. They were my footbag shoe before I got Lavers. Fortunately, i had someone that played in Lavers and he explained to me in full detail on how Rod Lavers were much better than the converse shoe i was playing in. I have a lot of knowledge on what converse shoes look like, and all the different variety of designs they carry. I also know the weight of the shoe they have, and compared to Lavers there's not even the slightest comparison.

The last converse shoe I played in, the sole was practically nonexistent and it was separating from the shoes canvas backing. Lavers gave me a boost on what footbag freestyle was, and it seems like it was doing the same to most other footbag newbies. Sure, now that I'm a G-unit lover and have good knowledge on freestyle moves, that doesn't mean that I should lecture and scold you on what shoe is right for you. Everyone starts out differently and have different interests for equipment. In the end, it's just the most simple aspects that people look out for in performance of the shoe, and not it's "stylish design." Don't be so worked up about it. You can say that I'm practically a very "chill" person in comparison to how I sound on modified.

Don't worry about it Ben Rea. We all start out in the dark. And there's always a gray area where even experienced players can't even show people "the light" for proper technique and equipment (is there a light, really?). For example, a NYFA member of ours plays in NB CT 920s, and the design doesn't seem fitted for footbag. It's not stopping him, and he's busting guiltless/tripless with them each time we play.

It can be a harsh community for a newbie, but that's how modified is, just like any online community. Just remember: the bag I stitched for you wasn't just for anyone. It was for someone who knows what freestyle footbag is all about, regardless of their skill level. You are someone that I can trust to keep a bag without putting it through a lot of abuse. I don't sell or trade my bags to a "hacker" who doesn't know how to give their bags proper treatment. I get enough of that in NYC.

well, i think you have more consistancy maybe. i have my 1 and 2's consistant but only some threes are totally good. and my strings suck, im horrible at linking things together.

Your main focus should be working on consistency so that your string lengths can be pretty long. For me, I'm trying to work everything into both sides so that I can get a good range of consistency. Big moves are sweet to hit, but hitting them mid-string is even sweeter.
