After a long session today I hit legover and pickup BOTH SIDES! I also attempted Fairy>op Clipper.

The Hackeysnack is still as sweet as can be. Matter of fact I think it is getting more broken in. :)

My butterflys are SO much more controlled but still not perfect.

Summer projects suck. I have to read 2 LONG books, "Guns, Germs, and Steel,"and "In the Time of the Butterflys." Then I have to write thesis statements for every chapter and annotate the book. What fun. :) Its cool though, as long as I can still footbag. :o

I'm saving tip money from work to hopefully buy about a yard of ultrasuede light. I'm about out of my free samples. :(

Oh yea I might take a trip to Houston in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I'll get to play with some new shredders or even the elusive Houston Skyliners. 8O Who knows. I'll also be chillin' in Galveston near the beach so HOPEFULLY I can locate some footbaggers. :)

I will end quoting from my last post. It says it the best. Footbag is fun. :P

Peace (to anyone who reads this footblog :wink: )

So far, yes, and I'm not expecting it to get any better. :?

I started stitching my first 32p last night and continued today. What a task! :o I hope it turns out ok and I'll post pics when I'm finished. It is light pink and red. (My most abundant colors :wink: )

I have a horrible pain in the right side of my very lower back. Most of the time it hurts just to walk. I don't think it is a sore muscle but I'm not sure. My right knee also flares up when I set from clipper delays.

I placed an order with KingstonFootbag.com for 4 glover's needles. (One of mine snapped in half :roll: ) I'm looking forward to getting them but there is no hurry.

Other than all that I'd really like to participate in the online competitions but I don't have a digital video camera. :cry: Maybe I can borrow one when I become a better footbagger.

I'm thinking about modding my twills. Maybe put in a toe box, who knows. 8)

Anyway thats all thats up with me for now.

I just hit SO many pickups... BOTH SIDES 8) . They are looking a lot better. I can now hit butterflys fairly consistantly off my right.

My Raye bag is also a lot more broken in and more floppy. Its really choice. It has had 2 baths so far and smells like Axe Bodywash :) .

My knee stills hurts when I do clippers, but the back is less severe.

I just sold a coin from the movie, "The Pirates of the Carribean," on eBay for $45!!! Thats more than enough to buy a new bag :o Maybe one from Estonia...

So far I have made three 12 panels and tonite I will start on my fourth. I'm pretty much out of ultrasuede. I guess I'll have to break down and buy some from Field's. $$$

And this summer project thing is really hanging over my head. I've barely started and there's only a month left of summer. :( I need to get with it.

I made my best 12 panel so far and got hold of a camera so I took a lot pictures. I figured I'd post the pictures in here so I don't clog up the other thread. :P

By the way, I think this post will make me "Shredilicious" if I'm not mistaken. 8)

EDIT: Yes, I am now officially Shredilicious. 8)

For me, this is an epic post. :)

I have found the missing link I was so long searching for in stitching 32's.

I have finally figured out my mistake I was making.

Everything is clear now, all I have to do is practice, practice, practice my stitching.

I am so happy.

Now I can make my first 32. This is only the beginning! :P

It's amazing how much you can learn just from yourself. Most of my stitching techniques I have taught myself besides a few contributed by fellow footbaggers.

Ah, it is a great day in my little world of footbag. Thats all for now. My first 32 should be posted any day now.

:) :) :)

Alright today I ordered #7 nickel plated lead shot along with one yard of 6 different colors of ultrasuede light. It's gonna be sweet when it gets here so I can make more 32's and get better at stitching. I got some animal print facile too so I can make some funky bags. 8)

My mirages are pretty much solid on both sides along with ATW's.

I hit butterfly, legover, pickup, mirage, atw, and clippers both sides today. I also did a fairy>oppisite clipper and it felt really good.

I want to hit this string soon, I've been workin' on it a little.
:arrow: butterfly>clipper pickup>mirage.
I think it would be sweet. :P

I should be getting a digital pocket scale soon to weigh my bags. I really want to make some good ones so I can trade 32's with other stitchers around the world. 8)

Man you are really making progress! Good luck on that string. It's important to have links to get you from clipper to toe other than toe bail, so near pickup is definitely a good move to work. Once you hit that string, try to hit it op side too. Rock on,

Hey thanks for the tips Ben. :)

I can't wait to get my ultrasuede light. I really want to make more 32's. I have stitching fever :twisted: But seriously I can't wait. :o

Yesterday I hit Symposium Mirage. I can't do it that often though. I think I've hit it 3 times total. :?

I think the second bag I will make will be Green Grape and Country Cream....Yum. :wink: Fill it with some shot and I'm ready to go. Hopefully I can start trading in like a couple months once I get my technique dialed. I want to make sweet bags. :D

Here's Number 3. Colonial Red and Country Cream. 8) I tried a tighter gather than last time and made my hexes bigger. I now put 2 stitches in between the short sides of the hexes to fill the gap. It seems to work well. I'm still working on my technique, as you can see.

I'm starting to enjoy photography along with footbag, that's why I take so many pictures. Plus, I'm using my sister's digital camera so I take as many as I can get. She's leaving so I won't be able to post bags for a whole week. :cry: I'll still make em' though. :)

I've made 2 more 32's but haven't gotten to take pictures yet. I need a camera... I lost my latest bag at Grapevine Mills Mall on top of this huge sculpture thingy. It will be missed. :cry:

I hit a new trick but I don't know what it is called. I'm thinkin' it was a far pickup or something. I did clipper> no plant> same pickup. It was fun to hit for the first time. Speaking of fun, I like Fairy > op. clippers.

I'm gonna start another 32 today. I'm thinkin' about busting out the Animal Print. 8)

That could be either near pickup or far pickup

Near pickup
CLIP > OP IN [DEX] > SAME TOE [DEL]

Far Pickup
CLIP > SAME IN [DEX] > SAME TOE [DEL]

Pickups are fun. One guy in the Austin crew hit them for the first time the other day, he was pumped.

Ben, you are so freekin' helpful! Thanks again. :) From your explanation I know I did a far pickup.

I'm trying to find out if I can go to The 2006 Lone Star State Footbag Tournament in Austin. I'm working out the details but things are looking up. It would be so cool to shred with some Texas footbaggers! :D

I just stitched my best flower ever. :P I changed my gather, depth of stitches, and the size of my templates by a little. The bag I am workin' on right now is Colonial Red and Animal Print. It's going to be interesting with all my new changes. :o Oh yea, I finished another 32 today. It's pretty small and bouncy but its alright. The colors are Green Grape and Rose Quartz. I wish I could post pictures!!!. I swear I'm gonna save up for a digital camera. :roll:

As of now I'm am trying illusions but they are giving me trouble. Other than that I'm "drilling" legovers and pickups both sides and kicking the bag around for a while.

Expect new bag pictures soon! :D

~~~~~~~~Awesome sesh tonight with the bag I just made!!!~~~~~~~~
I just hit Osis for the first time :!: It felt so good. I only hit it 3 times total though. 8) I also hit this cool mini string; butterfly>clipper mirage. It might have a special name but I don't know. On top of that I hit a butterfly set from the oppisite clipper and a few toe set butterflys on the flipside. Still no illusion...
My bag plays great! It is also the best stitching I have done so far. Animal and Colonial, pretty funky. :wink: It's a tiny bit big though. It's definately a good training bag, weighing in at 62 grams. I'm changing the template a little for the next one so it won't be as big. :oops:
Quantums are pretty tempting but I think I'm gonna wait until they make more and maybe improve em'. My lavers are just fine for now (and don't cost $75 :? )
Today I hit a far legover, a hopover, and a paradox mirage ( I just did it like 5 seconds age after watching some hackrifice vids :P )
I also made another bag, #8. It looks pretty good but is still too big. I've already cut out smaller panels for my next Bell Pepper (spanish gold, green grape, and flash red) bag. My first blur pattern.
I won't be able to play very much this coming week because I've got drumline camp everyday 8-5. :( I'll fit in a few sessions after though.
I can't wait to post some pictures of my bags I've stitched. I'm proud of my last two. :)
Thats all for now.
Gah I'm so tired from drumline camp but I still want to play. Ooo I hit a new 3 during our lunch break. legover>butterfly>clipper mirage. It was fun. Last night I did a guay too. Hackrifice videos are cool. 8)
I did 107 consecutive toe delays a few days ago, I just forgot to mention it in my blog, and tonight I hit toe set> osis, and this trick: pixie>same clipper. The dex was pretty sloppy though. I thought of it as a guay except catching it in a clipper. Ugg I don't know how to explain it. :? I've been working on my illusions so hard but but my dex foot always hits the bag on the downtime. Practice! :)
Other than that a made a new bag. Green Grape, Spanish Gold, and Flash Red. Still a wee bit too big compared to my Hackysnack. :?
