knee injury! Every footbag players worst nightmare

Post by Brad_R »

I quit kicking for a while and gained about 20 pounds. Then I started kicking again and hurt my left knee practicing smears. From then on my knee hasen't been the same. If I don't wear a knee brace it kills. And now today I just hit left footed double switchover and my knee hurts as though I haven't worn the brace at all. Has anyone had knee trouble. what should I do? Should I go to the doctor? The answer is probably yes. Thaks to anyone whom responds to this email.

If you can get away with some light cycling then go for that in the mean time (before you see the doctor). You don't want your leg muscles to atrophy by resting too much, so see what you can get away with. You probably won't be able to play footbag, and you don't want to do anything that causes pain during/post activity. Post can mean right after a session, later that day/evening, or even the next day.

I just did 3 months of physical therapy for minor patellar bruising (the underside of my kneecaps got battered over time)..and it sucked balls. I'm not sure how much better my kneecaps are, as they don't feel 100% and I'm lightly playing with Cho Braces. On the plus side, though, my legs are much stronger and now less prone to injury.
