3 consecutive torques? Nice! Keep on those and you'll own.

I know I have not posted in a while but I have been pretty ill. I caught the flu variant that has been going around here. Sweat, cough, sit on the toilet for about four days. Sucked so needless to say, I just started playing again last night. Torques were at only one on one on each side. Osis high was eight with lots of strings of fives. I think my body needed some rest. I will continue torquing.
During my sickness I played alot of ps2. I completed silent hill 3 and 4. Also, nba ballers phenom. I suppose that was ok. Silent hill came to me after I watched the movie. I suppose the movie was ok but stupid ending.
Anyways back at the bag, and I will start posting again regularly after today.

Hey Mike
Do you remember me?
I came to your tournament, from Winnipeg, in Regina back in, like, 2000 or 2001?
It's awesome to hear that you're playing. I was going to ask questions, but I guess it would be reasonable to read your blog before asking something that's potentially been posted right in from of me on the screen.
My brother is in China at the moment (until the end of August) visiting family and his girlfriend's family. I don't really know where he is at the moment but it sounds like a blast and I totally want to travel there again soon! They just went to Disneyworld (/land). Everything is SO bloody cheap there!!!
So I'm going to go read more of your blog now

Good to hear you're feeling better and starting to kick again Mike.
I had been wondering what happened and why you weren't posting. I guess it would've been nice to shoot you a PM and let you know. I just don't think like that. Maybe I'll start ..
Anyways, props on being so disciplined with the training!

Practiced last night again. osis was at twelve last night. Torques 3 in a row strong and 2 in a row weak. Feeling alot better and the fiancee just returned from the silk road. She got home at like three in the morning last night so my sleep was shot. I have been drinking alot of tea to keep myself awake this morning.
Eric, yes I remember you. Of course, I kept playing but I suppose that Campbell doesn't talk about me too much. Like you I did not get out of saskatoon too much for tournaments back then. I believe that your brother is in Hong Kong that is where disneyland is. It is about an hour away from where I live. If you ever think of coming over here let me know and I will take you around.

I did not practice last night because I was exhausted. The night before my fiancee returned from her holiday at like two in the morning and I did not fall asleeep again until four. I had to be up at seven to go to work. I will get back at it tonight.
I hope you all meet your inner potential today,
Mike

Played again last night the session was not so good. Osis was at eight in a row. However, torque was poor last night with only getting one and one on each side. I was having difficulty getting the body rotation down last night. If anyone has any pointers on my problem that would be great.
Otherwise, life has been uneventful. Nothing exciting to report with life in China right now.
I hope you all have a great day and school to your potential,
Mike

Osis have been consistantly between seven to ten in a row all week. I think that is decent enough to move on. Torques are getting worse I can no longer link them together so sitting at one and one.
I have decided to work on my flops with stepping following. For example,
I am going to try to keep a schedule like this, I hope it will help me escape the bordedom of doing the same move over and over again.
Day one - infinites 100 ripwalk 400
Day two - paradox mirage 100 blur 400
Dave three - osis 100 torque 400
dave four - whirl 100 blurry whirl 400
I am hoping that this will help me build my stepping base up. This is just my tenative schedule for august practicing. If things go well I would like to change infinite to barfly then ripwalk to blurries but we will see.
Work is pretty good right now. I get paid to played my ps2. My company is looking for sounds for their new toys and they think that video game sounds are the best so I just play games and they record the sounds. Pretty sweet I think. Sometimes life is China is so ridiculous that I feel so fortunate to be here.

Congi is sick,
They always ram that crap down my throat when I am sick here. Porridge is a dish that is meant to stand alone, maybe brown sugar is an acceptable additive, however seafood and green onion is not. NOR is liver. Nothing says lovin, like from your mom, like a bowl of live congi. Yum, I can just feel myself getting better eating that!
No more talk about Congi!

I started my august routine already. Last night I was able to his 21 infinites in a row and link three ripwalks strong to weak and back to back from weak to strong side.
I am starting to feel better but I felt really winded last night, I am just getting over the chest cold I had but it has really winded me, I have hacking up alot of phlem last night. I hope in the next couple of days my lungs will return to normal.

Umm, Hello Mike,
I was just doing a search for 'Vancouver' here on modified, and I see you're coming to Van in September. You should definitely drop me an email if you want to kick.

Hey everyone I continued you my rountine. I was able to his tons of paradox mirages followed by a tap. I just want to start getting it ready for atomic moves out of it. Strong blur as it was a long time ago, depresses I was able to go 0 for 200 last night. I dunno know I think I have hit that move one time for every year I have been playing footbag so that is like 11 times. Flip blur I was able to hit 23 and tried to follow up with atomic butterfly but I just could not get the bag to sit on the clipper I think that is a rust thing and that fact that I am keeping my leg way to long in the air. I think after a month or so no problem again.
I would like to thank everyone for their personal posts here, as a lonely man in China with no real friends besides my fiancee you all really make my day, week. So I want to take this time to answer everyone personally.
Scott: 我觉得你的中文进步太快。事后你在shanghai我来。以后我能一起玩 footbag.
tjuggles: congi is sick but thank you for always posting on my blog. You always have kind words and I really appreciate that.
Eli: sure I will drop you a PM when I am back. I was planning on contacting Matt and Allan in Victoria as I worked on the russell footbag promotional tours with them and usually try to get a session with them if they have time when I am there. I have to go to the Chinese consulate to do my business visa again on behalf of my own sourcing company so I will in Vancouver for at least a day. My parents live on the island in Bowser and I would like to spend alot of time with them since I have not seen them in 2 years. Once I get most of my ground work here done for my company I will be moving to Vancouver with my fiancee. I think it is the easiest place for her to adjust to life away from China. I am not going into a talk about why as I think that is futile and somewhat ignorant to do.
Campbell: well what can I say to you that I probably have not said to you before. Your are the prodigal son number one of the hotstepper fraternity. I would like to take on the title of elder statesmen for the group now. Congrats on Void Bsos. How you can learn new moves so quickly has always amazed me and I respect your commitment to footbag. I knew long ago you would be a star, or at least in my mind. I hope to get back to sask sometime in the future but with my company starting to take off it is hard to find the time. However, my company is registered out of sask so I will probably have to get back there sometime to do paperwork.
As to the bag I am playing with I am playing with the stainmaster 5000. It is that lon irish you bought me when you went to worlds in Montreal. It is notourious for bleeding and has turned my nice white new balances to a craptacular shade of brown.
Thank you everyone for your posts, and if you have pointers for me on my problems here please post away I do not mind.

umm...I think we are talking about two different things. I feel like you are talking about some food dish, while I am talking about 漢字, or the Japanese writing system, which was borrowed from China. I guess I didnt make it clear. Sorry.

Haha, it's nice to see some Chinese going down here in this thread.
I'll be visiting Shenzhen and Hong Kong in December I believe. My cousin's getting married. I'd love to find some people to kick with, but I get lost in Asia so easily.
I've also been trying to teach Tom Mosher to speak Mandarin.
Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese in Shenzhen?

I was not able to practice last night as my tutor asked for class last night instead of on sunday. She has her university entracne exams on monday so I had to change the schedule to accomadate her.
TJ, sorry about the Kanji thing. Here it refers to a rice porridge dish that they add disgusting foods to. I believe that you would be looking for han zi ( 汉字). This means chinese characters so that it think covers that. Please accept my apologizes for creating some confusion there. Anytime you would like to talk about that no problem. I am no chinese expert but can hold my own. Realise that I taught myself mandarin.
Pengu, you can speak any kind of dialect here. This is a migrant city so anything goes that way. With that being said, unlike the rest of gaungdong province, the main language here is Mandarin instead of Cantonese. This is the result of the migrant population here as I had mentioned earlier. I don't play in public here, finding space is difficult. I have a room in my house that I play in but I am sure that we could go out and find somewhere, I am sure it would cause some sort of public spectacle. People love to stare at things here. If you are coming here in December let me know and I will take you around and sure we can kick at my house( apartment). If you can speak that is good enough. After we can go for a massage he he he!
