Here are some pics of my first three in order from first to last. I also belong to footbag.org, I left a post like this to see what others think, 80 people looked at them only 3 replys. Do they suck or something?
Here is the second one
Here is the latest
If anyone is interested in trade let me know...I consider these to be quality sewin as I kinda have a natural talent (I probably got from my mom) and I think they are worthy of trade!
Yeah, I have a sick natural talent sewing. My mom sews a lot and I probably got some of her sewing genes at conception! haha
I bought my first non crochet bag (kanga) for 30 bucks and said "heck I could do this myself". I got some UltraSuede light from www.fieldsfabric.com and some other supply from joann and a local pet shop and made these creations. Patterns are from footbag.org
I use a thick grain sand I purchsed from my local pet shop. Its usually used as a medium for fish tanks but outperforms the sand in store bought footbags, the slightly thicker granual prevents leakage. Also makes for a stickier bag for stalling! PLUS its only five bucks for enough to make, Id say, 50 bags!!!!
Nicely done. I would recommend investigating plastic pellets/metal shot for filler. What you're describing sounds abrasive, and it could wear down the bag a lot faster.
"It's a punk one!" - Auntie Val, after being shown a spikey footbag
The sand I use may be a little abbrasive but I prefer kicking a sand bag. Is there a "best" filler to use or is it kind of a personal preference? If personal preference I would always use sand even if it wears it out cause I can just make another one... Is there a professional standard to adhere to?
well, i have only done footbag for 2-3 weeks, but i have combed the forums and have found out that leadshot or bb's or even plastic are used, but im not sure if the leadshot can gove you lead poising
I just started a new one, about an hour ago. I just finished cutting out pannels and have now got 6 sewn in!! Ill keep my progress up to date. I am going to sleep now. Look for updates tomorrow afternoon (eastern).
