There's a bit of a story behind this video. Dat filmed like 11 hours @ CSS7 and then mailed Kevin Regamey his 300gb external hdd packed full of raw footage to be edited into a DVD. Unfortunately, Kevin's computer couldn't open the files so I was given the raw footage to edit into smaller pieces that Kevin's computer could open. I've gone through all the footage and cut it down to about 2 hours of quality shred/antics. Except during the process I accidentally became quite fond of the footage. Often, late at night, I would find myself whispering to the footage hoping it would notice me. At first it was short poems about different styles of drifters, but soon I slipped into a dangerous world of nonsensical entreaties of lust and desire. Then one night I had a dream that I was css7 and it was really the footage that was editing me...
Essentially, what I'm trying to say, is I needed to make a video before I passed the footage back on to Kevin. This is my first major project in Adobe Premiere so any comments/criticisms/general excitement over finally having a css7 video would be appreciated. Super thanks to Dat for filming and to Kevin for letting me steal some sexy footage.
Enjoy.
EDIT:
Players (generally in order of appearance): Jim Penske (fearless run), Lon Smith (mobius), Dave Clavens (sick3), Evan Gatesman, Ken Somolinos, Dave again, Sunny Genz (Poi), Cameron (Rides by on Stephen Barnes), Daryl Genz (FootJuggling), Peter Irish, some more shots of players mentioned, Luis Monhollon (last shot)

jus joshing, bro (or am I??)
No, really, I liked this; it managed to whet my appetite. I like the Pi theme also, and the whole thing certainly evoked some good memories. especially the opening hotel sequence
Man, that was the sweetest hotel ever.

PS You forgot Cameron in the players list! *rides by on chair rack*

CSS7 footage!?!? That had become like the longest running joke, it`s still hard for me to believe I`m actually getting to see some! Thank you so much Rory! Seeing the shred spots brought back lots of memories. It was also really great to see some Luis footage. Good stuff. The Pi theme was also really neat.
Totally. I`m resigned to the fact that I will likely never stay at another hotel as good as that at a footbag jam.Stephen Barnes wrote:tMan, that was the sweetest hotel ever.
Oh yeah, and thanks for putting me on there.

Nice work Rory. That is the best video i have seen for quite a while. Loved the music, so well choreographed. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Favourite part would have to be Darryl Genz and jim penske run at the end with the fast beats kicking in, makes me so pumped for footbag.
Ken toebius is so sick.

Wow great video. It made me remember all those memories. The editing was reallly good! The slow motion was really well done. I really can't wait for more footage of this tournament to come out, because the people who weren't there just don't know how sick it was. I hope this video can be an inkling.

I've watched this video at least 10 times today. Probably will watch it a few more times before I go to bed.
I hope people understand more CSS7 footage will come out. A fair amount of work has been done already and it's not going to be easily forgotten. Keep in mind Kevin and Rory have busy lives. I prefer that they take their time to make something remarkable they can be proud of, rather than just hacking something out to appease people.

Great video, Rory, thanks very much. Music, footage and video effects
blended together perfectly. the zooms, the slowmo's, everything was
so in sync. This is your first attempt at videomaking with premiere? DAMN!
you're really good.

Really nice. Definitely one of the most styley videos I've seen-- the music went really well with the black and white theme and the shred. I like how you started out by pairing the simple, recurring beat with the 3 person foot juggling. Good stuff.
