BUT
I finally got started with this a few weeks ago, and today it was officially completed!
A deck.
just for shred.
Right in my backyard.
It is 8 feet long and 12 feet wide. made out of quality cedar redwood (so it won't rot). It is sitting on 12 concrete foundations, which in turn are sitting on a bed of gravel.
it is specifically engineered for footbag, meaning there is a 24-inch "sweet spot" that runs the whole width of the deck, that has no frame under it, giving it a springier feel. In addition to this, the boards on either end of the frame are just a hair lower than the rest of the studs, meaning all of the planks have a *slight* bow to them, meaning when you land hard the boards will flex just a little bit more, taking some of that shock off your (my) joints, *and* giving you a little more spring on the way up.
It is also about 10 feet from my backdoor, meaning no more preparing lunches and packing up all my shit and hopping on the bus to go downtown or to the park.
In short, it is freakin' amazing
everyone is invited to come here and play on it. I promise you'll like it. in fact i think I might just throw CSS on it this year. what do you think?

ps. don't really post your decks here - just congratulate me and talk about how awesome my deck is.
