how high can you guys set??

Post by Torque22544 »

I'm just wondering how high you guys can set your bags. I can set it pretty low(especially for my pixies and legovers)
and now for something completely different

my actual sets (pixie, atomic, quantum) i can duck. so theyre pretty high. my stepping is an average height (waist-ish) i think. and i dont really do fairy, but its about waist height for me, also.

if youre talking about for single dex moves though, umm, about waist height, no higher, i'll set for, like, 2 adds and stuff. mark and i were fooling around with throwing the bag as high as you can into the air and doing a move out of it :)
i dexed a symp mirage that i mustve tossed, like, 20 meters up! didnt catch it though. prolly couldve :)

I can duck my pixie and stepping set, but I usually set lower for non-ducking moves.

I cna set the bag as high as I want to based on the move I'm doing. Like Chan and Jonathan, I can duck pixie sets, sometimes atomics and stepping, but for moves like Symposium Whirl, the bag barely comes off my foot.

I can duck most of my sets on ocasion (not 100%)..... but I can clipper set really high (around 2.5 meters)... it's of absolutally no use at all (except maybe going for double spins) but just thought I'd mention it.

I basically do a quick symposium mirage over the bag as it rises.

how i learned the stepping set: from the clipper, pick up your support leg up and out (use your hip). i dont know if that will help, it kinda makes me confused. i was having a real hard time with the setpping stuff then i got this idea. so i tried it and was hitting four add moves like crazy.

But when stepping, should i also aim the footbag more toward my body, instead of straight up? Or when you get good at stepping you can do it anytime no matter what?

no, not at first. I find it's a pretty tiring set, more so than toe sets (pixie fairy or atomic) but less than nuclear or barraging (that just drains all energy from you real quick).

yes. i agree. stepping is the one set that kills my shins!!!! real easy-like i mean.
think about throwing your leg out of the way real quick, almost before you even set the bag off your foot. and make sure to set the bag straight up between your legs. it took me 50 steps before i was hitting blur. you just need a secret that works for you. maybe watch some videos in slomo.

Im with you chan. clipper moves are just so...

I feel you cant get as much momentum and ...adrenaline with clipper moves (or even pixie or fairy) as with atomic or the such. You can never have enough adrenaline for atomic - you just want to jump as freaking high as you can and throw your leg really fast... maybe Im crazy

I find that the key tomost sets, is that you don't want to use every ounce of effort you have, don't try and set it as high as your head, just try to do lower sets and tighten the dexes.
