Damn my size 13 feet.

Does anyone know officially if they will be sold in larger sizes?

Oh yeah, and Is there any kind of "heel box" on these?

just to give you a short progress report and how its probably gona happen:

we're having major problems with the new onlineshop. soehow the checkout doesn't work. we have somebody working on it today or tomorrow and hope we'll get that problem fixed.

we hope we'll get everything set up by friday, because i'll be leaving on holiday for two weeks after that.

paypal will be the only option of payment

since shipping rates are very hard to calculate and people from all over the place will be ordering we've decided to make it simple. when you order you can state if you want your stuff sent by economy (uninsured, slow, cheap) or priority mail (insured, fast, more expensive) in the comments section. we charge you an advanced payment of 50€ for shipping. after we've shipped the stuff and we know exactly how much shipping cost we will return you the excess amount.

I just checked the shipping rates....damn....its about 40 euros to ship to the US, so 100 euros = $125....damn.....I've never paid that much for a shoe....that sucks, I want the shoes AND support the effort, but....damn

I know its early in the shoes release....but maybe planetfootbag should strike a deal with WFA (and whoever else seems logical) just for distributing purposes....cause....$125? its ridiculous that shipping DOUBLES the price....

even worse, I wear a 12 laver(tight) so i dont know if i could rock 11 quantums, i cant do anything smaller the 12 laver....

Uhmm... shipping would be either $30 - $35 USD (38.00 - 44.00 Swiss Francs). That said, it might be wise for people to pool orders if Daryl isn't going to be distributing them. I will try to get something something up for that later today.

I'm pretty excited about the quantums and their impact in Worlds and the community, but not so much about buying them. After everything is sorted and maybe if it is distributed well enough in the USA (there's a strong market here, duh) I'll invest some money in buying them.

But for now, it's G-units for me. I'm not going to pool my money into something so expensive when I have decent footbag equipment right now. I have G-units and maybe Rod Lavers to consider.

it will open up doors for us, by showing shoe companies that there is another sport that they can make money off of, in turn more footbag shoes.ill just buy them so i have a footbag shoe thats presentable in public, no modding.

I thought this was relivant to this topic (I origionally posted it on the NZ forum):

Why should everyone buy quantums now?

So I can support a company who supports footbag and the growth of the sport instead of supporting a huge corporation who doesn't care jack about footbag.

So planet footbag will have money and incentive to put more design into the shoes and address more of the issues like shock absorbtion (and they have said most of the money raised selling quatums is going stright back into development).

So that when someone asks me if those are footbag shoes, I can say yes they are. Part of the reason so many people don't take footbag seriously is because it's not serious, up untill now we haven't even had our own shoe! I will do anything possible to make footbag look more professional to the public eye, because the public eye is what sponsors and media care about, and sponsorts and media is what will grow footbag into something worth competing at.

i tried them at worlds and my impression was pretty good! i will surely buy them when they are avaible in my size 7.5. (i have rods 8.5). theres something i wanted to add, Jan Zimmermann told me about the difference between the black and the white ones: the black has a grippier and more hard sole, which means it is good for outdoor-play and doesnt ripp off fast. the white one is meant for indoor play and the sole is a bit softer, giving more absporption. but he also said its just testing and he doesnt know how much true effect it will show in the end.

and i really gotta say, if u like to have the quantums 02 or any following pair, you shud buy these cuz only lthen they can afford making the new one! help the sport growing! they are well-playable!

Wumbo, you said a 7.5 Quantum works for you and you wear an 8.5 laver.

So going down a full size is the way to do it?

Has anyone found that they prefer going a half size down? Does it vary from size to size?

This is important everyone, feedback will really help out.

But your lavers were too big for you. For Steve Goldberg they were the same size as lavers.

I think they make an ok replacement for Lavers. The main difference is that the sole is gummier. The surfaces are about the same. The toe bulges up slightly because your foot sits slightly higher in the toe. I'm guessing this is less of a problem with different thinner insoles. The stock ones come pretty thick.

The stalling surfaces aren't just mesh, to my surprise. There's a thin liner underneath. The mesh is thinner than on lavers.

Oh yeah, they are the same width as Lavers, which don't work for my wide feet.

The lavers I were wearing before were actually 11's, so I chose to get size 10 quantums as 10.5 lavers would have fit me better.

As for the toe bulging toebox, you makle a good point about the insole. It does feel alot better without them in at all so I'll look into getting better and thinner insoles for these shoes.

Can't wait to be able to say to people "yes, they are footbag shoes =]"

if i let the original insoles stay, half a size down was ok for me too. but since i use spencos that are very thin at the front a full size will work better to have a not so slippery fit.
