Rino set (video available)

Post by beenjammin »

Hey guys i think i invented a set. It is a flying whirling set. I set like it is a flying clipper but i whirl it on the way up. Has this been hit before? if not im naming it the rino set because of my last name.

Edit:

Rinage (Rino pdx mirage)
RinoFly (Rino Butterfly)

Last tricks in the videos

So its essentially a flying butterfly with the dex reversed, and you hit an osis out of it? I dont think that would count as a 'set', it would be a flying butterfly, then whatever you hit after it, ie. 2 seperate tricks.

Right?

butters and whirls are two totally different things in my opinion. Blazing and blurry are the same in jobs notation but are two totally different concepts, so im assuming that wouldnt change if you threw a flying in there.

Is this really a set? Or is it just a flying whirling kick, and then a downtime trick as the next move?

If you`re doing what I think you are, then its not a true set, and Lon Smith hits it paradox on a Fo Shizza and other videos that are 4+ years old.

ben, I see what you're saying, I've never heard of anyone doing this. I was trying flying stepping from flying clipper, so I dig the concept. Bust some bigger moves from it!

Sometimes I scrape my feet against the ground in anticipation of the charge. When I become sufficiently angry I'll set the bag up and tilt my head slightly. Then I'll thrust my forehead into the bag and start running towards a person/wall (whatever strikes my fancy). You see, the bag delays on my forehead only while I'm charging. I call this procedure the "albino rhino".

Worked on it a little yesterday and hit a rino clipper. I tried a pdx whrl out of it and im extremely close. Maybe ill hit it on camera today. Matt, what do i need to do to get this qualified as a legit set? I appreciate your not being a retard, your one of the few guys i really listen to on these posts. NO disrespect to you other guys you're just not as cool as matt.

This is a very interesting question. It seems the best way to "invent a set" is to have a recognizable shred game, name, and tournament attendance. If those things aren't going for yah, video confirmation is just about the only way. That and proving you can do it repeatedly(hitting just a clipper or osis out of it is enough IMO), and confirmation that no one else has done it b4. Pull off all of that (and have C-fan confirm its clean) and Rhino set is yours, at least in my eyes.

Rino Pdx Mirage (Rinage)

Rino Butterfly (RinoFly)
Here it is guys. Ive never attempted the rinage or rinofly before so what your seeing is the first ever attempts so its not as cleaned up as it will be. They are the last tricks in these vids. While my bro was posting the links i hit these on my flipside because that is the cool thing to do. Will post more when i get time. Peace.

Really nice, but... Whirl dex is before kick and should be after. In my opinion you have to work on it and do dex a bit later. Keep trying!

Cool trick!! but from the looks of it, not new. You would have to keep the whirling leg under the kicking foot till after the contact for it to be anything other than a flying whirl>move.

PS- your game looks good, make a shred vid!

Ben, I think for it to be a legit set, you have to do what cod said. I haven't seen the vids, because I'm on dialup. Keep pushing, hope to see it live some day.

i just watched rinage...and to me it looks like you just do a spinning mirage>mirage whirl there, i dont see any kind of a legitimate set...maybe i might be confused

If Lon was hitting pdx years ago I don't know if you get naming rights.

Zeb that was not the rinage that was just some warm up combos, the rinage is the last trick i do right after the pdx illusion. YOu say lon has done this? did he hit anything out of it?
Yesterday i hit a gyro mirage out of it. I attempted whale tail and spininng butter. I footed the whale tail but it was a little too sloppy for me to call it good so ill keep working on it.

Sorry, this isn't a set. Watch the New Year's Jam video from Finland (the most recent New Year's). Ville hits a stepping set from a flying clipper (maybe it was just a clipper kick? can't really remember), but it illustrates pretty clearly how you would have to attempt to get a flying clipper set blazing (I personally can't see this being hit :P). Good luck, though! :)
