Huh?

I guess I'll jump on the props-giving bandwagon and say big ups big guy. I've told you a bunch of times how much of an inspiration you are to me. I like your work ethic, and the time and discipline you put into your game. You're a player worthy of champion status many times over. Congrats and Props!

Hey guys!!

Haha, thanks for the great comments. lol :)

Matt, I got your message. That was awesome!!

I have been sleeping soo much since returning home. Jetlag finally caught up with me.

A full writeup would take suuper long, so here are 20 highlights (plus a couple lowlights) of World Footbag Championships 2006:

(Not in any particular order)

+ Meeting so many new freestylers (esp. Phil Morrison) and learning more about the people I had met previously

+ Competing for the first time in 2 freestyle events (Circle, Doubles) and performing respectably

+ Seeing the sport grow in numbers significantly from last year (around 10% more in open routine and shred, way more women competitors -- women's DOUBLES for the first time ever!)

+ Witnessing he unveiling of 2 groundbreaking developments in freestyle: the quantum footbag shoe (not only a quality product but the final step towards our independence as a sport) and Bringing Out The Shred!! (First professionally edited shred video with narration and storyline. Woo!!

+ Having only one drop each in 1st and 2nd rounds of open routine. Both were on the last trick. D'oh!

+ Winning my first 4-square games ever! Seeing my knowledge of the game and playing tactics improve substantially.

+ Having a solid 1st round of sick3, landing 3/7 attempts and making 2/7 attempts in final

+ Achieving an add average in Routine Finals 0.4 higher than Helsinki Worlds

+ Eating quite healthy relative to most tournaments. The event site had free fruit, smoothies, bottled water which all the players hugely appreciated

+ Seeing the Canadians do so well despite being badly underrepresented!

+ Playing probably my strongest ever in my semi-finals Circle

+ Receiving craazy amounts of congrats after award ceremony on Saturday

+ Participating in tons of juggling circles throughout the week. Many of you have crazy skills! I learned some cool new moves too!

+ Seeing Juho get 3rd place in routine at the ceremony. HUGE PROPS!!!

+ Tom Mosher made it to routine semi-finals! Your semis routine was hilarious!!

+ The winnings were totally dispersed this year! Everyone had something to be stoked about.

+ I invented a couple funky tricks: "monster swirl" (an opp foot reverse swirl between monsters) and pdx whirling symp swirling monster! 8)

+ Getting sponsored by TRIO and doing some intense tricks with Honza for their website

+ Learning how to play 'Pigs' in our Ernst Reuter Schule classroom. I sucked. :P

+ Making the finals in all 5 freestyle events I competed... and winning shred! :D

- Hearing that some stuff was stolen at the School and having tighter security around us setting curfews and waking us up earlier

- The distance from the event site/parties to the school was too freaking far!!! Spent a lot of euro on taxis for the week. :(

- Nobody got their CDs back after giving them in at registration. I had a sick shred mix on that one CD. :(

- for Circle Finals, we were arranged in a line rather than a circle b/c of the size of the stage. 1st round, I had to receive a pass from Ales across the stage and if I dropped the pass I would miss my turn.

So that's my writeup :P . Once again, huge thanks for all your support and props. To those who didn't make it, you missed an important page of footbag history that truly can't be described.

Peace out ganstas,

Jorden

Congratulations Jorden!

I watched Evan's video he made for the video challenge, and I was most impressed by Alpine Big Apple and Baroque Screw (What?!! He got both dexes clean!!!???)

PS, You did awesome in the circle competition!

In fact, Ales told me it was one of his tricks during the whole competition. :D Passing the bag from far away, but right, so it would be as hard as possible to catch it!
Also he told that in the first rounds he tried to walk back and forth so that his shadow would be on and off the competitor with the bag. For distraction. ;)

And major props for doing so well in the events, especially in the shred! It was great to share the same classroom with you. :)

Whew! Long time no trick post.

Solid session downtown today at a place called Grafton Square. It's right on front of the Police Office. :P
It was cool because a cop car actually stopped at the corner and watched me hit a pretty long run. I've been kicked out of there once before, but this cop toootally gave me props and took off!! haha -- awesome.

- surging ps whirling rake into a run 8O
- blazing blender first try
- flip blazing blender
- whirlygig swirl (both sides)
- run starting w/ blurriest > blurrier [rpt] with superfly> scorp's tail and flip scorp
- blurry drifter > pdx torque [rpt]
- gyro symp flux first try (first time in a while)

...and I've totally forgotten how to do liquefier. lol :x
