Online camcorder-as-webcam sessions [no video]

I read this thing on using your camcorder as a webcam. Here's a trial of a program that does the conversion. I haven't tried it yet, but I remember talking about webcam sessions on here with, like, Sam, and...people, and we'd never really figured it out.

I use that sometimes. I've got the full version- so I'm not aware of the limitations set in place for the trial version. I think it works great. The video that is output is still not top quality, but at least the webcam's framerate is no longer the limiting factor.

It would be cool to schedule online sessions since so many people already have dv cameras that can be used for webcams.

I guess I could read up on this, but I don't feel like visiting the site while I'm at work.

One question though, would this work ONLY with DV cameras? I have a camcorder (8mm tape) that I can plug into my computer with an ATI (Maybe All in Wonder...maybe something else) that has RCA inputs. Would it work?
