I think its awsome, I love playing poker. The show is so serious too, Most of those pots can get up to a million dollars. I couldent ever play for that much though(I cant keep a strait face to save my life).

Did you see the 2003 tourny? Sam Farha could have walked away with the 2 mil, but he bought that moneymaker guys bluff. But yeah, that shit is cool.

moneymaker didnt just bluff his way through the tourny though. i seen a few of his other matches during the series and hes actually pretty good. i think about anyone would have fell for that bluff though.... consider how good moneymakers opponent is and think how he fell for it....had to take a good player to fool him.

I like to gamble. Holdem isn't my favorite game though.

I like klabberjass. Heads up, one on one play, where strategy trumps luck and good cards.

I watch the WPT on tv though. The classic reruns are great because they don't show the cards to the viewers . . . it really makes it fun to try to read the players.

I have been playing on UltimateBet for a while. My handle is "SpitBlood". I once got 30th in a 400-man 5 USD tournament and won 15 USD LOL. I play mostly 10-man "Sit-n-go" tournaments.

But yeah I watch WPT, Poker Superstars, anything really. They have "Celebrity Poker Showdown" in the US, where movie stars play each other. It can be pretty lame some times, some of them have no idea what they're doing. I think final tables are really cool, there is so much strategy involved.

I draw a lot of similarities between footbag and poker in the mental sense. Both require a great deal of self-control, discipline and patience.

Anyone who thinks poker is lame (I agree it's not a sport, but definitely a tv-worthy activity), take some time to learn the game and get good. It's extremely complex and challenging. They have computer programs that can beat the best chess players in the world, but computer programs cannot even come close to beating most good poker players, mainly because of the vast complexity of the game.

Yeah texas hold'em rocks. Watching people make buffs and try calling those buffs are the best. :)

I don't like watching TV when it has anything to do with a bunch of funny looking people sitting around a table, playing cards. I don't understand how people like it. This one time I was watching and this dude was wearing hologram sunglasses with eyeballs.

What a dork.

Yeah, hologram glasses = weird. He probably wears them to make it easier to bluff, but there's no need for holograms... :?

But poker is actually quite enjoyable to watch. Have you watched it any length? i.e. more than 5 minutes. Give it a try before you dis it... but if you don't enjoy it that's fine too.
