Modding off the outsides of Mesh Lavers

Post by Guest_2 »

How do they expand?

All my mesh lavers-at first-were a little small

I just went down a half size and my lavers are a little too tight. I know if I mod the canvas out they will expand. However, I don't know how it will expand. So...if Jim or anyone else wants to shine a light, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks all,
Josh

it will usually strech out well if u do a perfect mod.
so really just take your time and mod carfully
usually after the first shred or two theyll be fully expanded dependeing if your feet are really wide or not(depends)

Vindicator, the bag u sold me evened out and its turning into my choice bag(its so soft  )

This is a great mod! I love it but I don't know if it makes your lavers expand at all but one thing I do know is that you get a sweet insides that is still pretty thin and is way more grippy then mesh

The first time I modded my insides, I accidently took out the outside of one shoe, so I did the outside of the other shoe to make them even.

With both sides modded the shoe seems lighter, but besides that I can't think of anything that benefitted by cutting the outsides.

They didn't expand really.

I took off the outside leather last night, and they feel more comfortable, but I can't see any change in performance. They will look better once the mesh fades at least.

modding the outsides makes the shoe wore breatheable. a must in meshes if you ask me, maybe less vital in leathers.

I haven't decided whether to mod the outsides yet. Although my alvers are 9 months old now so I guess I decided not to...

It may make it more breathable, but I don't feel any discomfort in that regard. What I have noticed is that the mesh gets very dirty when the canvas underneath is gone. I can't wash mine because I drew on them with sharpie and it will bleed everywhere  not doing that again...

ive made this mod on my mesh and it defenitely is helping me for a better clipper! besides that, it really feels like a sock now, an extension of the foot, and is more comfortable!

lol @ all you silly gooses

Modding the Mesh off instead of the Inner Canvas on the Clipper position is what's being discussed

lol @ you for not being able to describe yourself properly. Reading your first post back now just makes no sense to me given that you're talking about modding the mesh.

BUT seeing as how we're talking about that... why would you do that? The only advantage I can see is that it may be more grippy. The mesh is thinner than the canvas so if you want your shoes to expand more then I don't think modding the mesh is the way to go.

Correction: I did consider that you meant the mesh not the canvas. But your first post was mostly confusing. I decided in the end you meant the outside surface.
I know if I mod the canvas out they will expand. However, I don't know how it will expand.
What the fuck am I supposed to assume that means? You said canvas.
And guiltless
Yes, because everyone that's actually trained hard at footbag for a few years are 'in the box' thinkers. Of course you're right. You better stay tiltless so you can be innovative.

edit: Oh and by the way, this isn't an exactly a new idea. As I said, I almost did this when I got my lavers. It's already 'in the box'

Go to another fourm if you two wish to fight.

Now back on to the topic at hand!

Just try this mod on a pair of dead lavers if you have a spare pair of dead lavers and see if you like the mod. If you guys want pictures of what it looks like I will be happy to post a picture of my shoe.

I dont' recommend cutting the mesh off. Of the players I know who've done this, none of them liked it enough to do it again.

To me bag feel is much more important than grip. I've never had a moment where I thought I dropped the bag or botched a set because the mesh was too slippery. Bad technique is a much bigger culprit. Using the thicker canvas seems as wrong as using unnecessarily thicker condoms.

I-totally-agree.-I-tried-modding-the-outside-mesh-off-of-a-pair-of-Lavers-that-I-had-laying-around,-and-it-didn't-feel-comfortable-at-all.-My-feet-didn't-breathe-well,-the-material-didn't-stretch,-and-I-couldn't-feel-the-bag-whenever-I-played.-Having-good-technique-is-where-it's-at.
