I used to shred for only 2 hours every day. Even at that, 2 weeks passed by and my knees were ready to crumble. When you say "whatever amount depending on the sport" do you mean that 4 hours is perhaps not ideal for footbag? Just curious... Am I in desperate need to work my way up to more hours of shred per day?

Working on getting better doesn't mean only shredding - you could spend 1 hour a day playing footbag and 3 hours a day in a gym trying to strengthen your knees and maybe that would be a much better approach. As Henry says - there are some tricks that are low impact and some that are high impact. Look for a balance that doesn't hurt your body too much. I tend to think the aim should be to build up your leg muscles and to gain control of them - that way you'll have the foundation that you can improve all areas of your game.

Who are you rolling your eyes at? We'd already established that... did you actually read the thread or just drop your cynicism in? Also your analogy makes no sense.

thanks, Jeremy.

I used to take the bus to school wich was a solid 20 minute ride. A few months ago I started biking to school everyday. It's a fair distance and half of it is uphill (on the way there). Now, it's summer and I bike to work everyday. I heard somwhere that biking works alot of the same muscles as footbag... do you know if it's true? I found that it's helped my endurace tremendously and that my legs are stronger.

I also take Kung Fu lessons. My teacher is quite interested in footbag (He helped me in the final scene of my RawSko Rhapsody video) and he gives me all sorts of general tips on how to keep my legs in shape. This is also good for flexibility. The stances that we practise in Kung Fu are more painful and better for your legs then any workout in any gym that I've ever been in. I love Kung Fu

Does this stuff count? I have acces to a weight room throughout the school year to add onto that if it seems like a good idea.

I'll do anything for Footbag
(except kill babies or anything wierd like that... :P )

Ricky Carmichael in his younger days was a "dough ball" according to a mx mag i was subscribed to. Though he is only 5"4 at 154 pounds he is still able to control and smoke riders easily over six feet such as david vullemin.
Just as carmichael is a hard working champ, i feel jorden is very comprable to ricky in many ways. His ankle crank isnt nearly as cranky as vaseks and i believe he is at a loss of years he still loves the sport enough to push not only his own limits as an individual but the limits of the sport itself. You can be as good as you are willing to work for, just dont hurt y ourself! I gotta go strech. Peace out y'all.
