Many great books have been turned down COUNTLESSLY by publishers. If a book truely is great, then it's going to be recognized eventually. I'm really not surprised even that the Eye of the Storm got turned down a few times. The Beatles got turned down by the first record company they tried for, saying ""Gutair rock was going out of style". Jay-Z, arguably the most industrious man in rap, couldn't get a deal at first either. Salinger had trouble finding somewhere to publish Catcher in The Rye. Frank Lloyd Wright was doing Prairie homes in the mid-west before anyone even recognized him.
It's a constant motif in the art world. If you're really talented, with an innovative style, you can damned well expect to be told that your works are shit, and that you should give it up. Why does this never stop great works from coming out? Because the talented artists don't give a shit what the publishers/art dealers/record companies think.
Don't worry. Great art is much too powerful to be stopped by something as silly as Capitalism.
