well... i was thinkin bout it but how could you make a 4s vid interesting enough to watch? Its hard enough to follow the game when youre playing it, but on video? Might give it a try?

4 square videos would be toight! Even if it was just us reviewing them and not able to get any good format for a vid out of it.

Al. Please edit your post at the top of this page to include a cool picture or something. If you take the top post, you can make it cool for all those who will be visiting within the next 20 posts. That's how we on modified do.

Nice Zeke.

Played @ Welles today with Reile, Zeke, Nathan, and Freddy.

I won 2/2 games of 4 square, but I didn't feel like I was playing especially good. I wish we could play with something like... only 6 good points and u win or something. I'm afraid other people messing up is giving me points.
Zeke is so good. He will return almost everything you send him, yet at time he's trailing in points. It really makes no sense to me.

Freestyled after. I hit high plains drifter, an ok triage, an ok jani walker... but whatev, I didn't like my game today. I need to get some cool strings. I feel like i just do single moves most of the time lately. I need to increase string length and variety. Suggestions? BOPs have helped b4. Throwing in whirls and drifters and what not. But then it gets stale. I need to practice.

Oh I hit my first flip Ripped Warrior! I was excited about that. Zeke hit his first ripped warrior today too! Good runs from Zeke in general. Nice to see him play. Reile's crazy flip fusing set nailing it all da time. Nathan showed alot of perseverance, and landed a couple 2nd time ever tricks.

~~~~~~~
CLUB
As I have mentioned before, to me, Chicago Inner Circle is a group of people who are friends who freestyle together. This may've been the subconscious root of the initial rules for membership.
1. You must freestyle together with us often.
2. We must be friends.
Great skill or goals in freestyle are not necessary.
Just a label of my crew. Not a merit badge. Respect comes with it b/c of the respect we've built for ourselves.
Inductees thus far are Brian, Nikki, James within the first year and Kamil much more recently. Membership has pretty much been set since the get go. The original inductees were so soon after the club started they are like OG's. If you look at it this way, Kamil is the only inductee into our little family. With Emily a sure bet if she didn't move. 2 people ever!
Lately I began to think that perhaps, - Perhaps -, CIC should be locked down and preserved for it's time. Instead of being all different faces in a couple years with only 1 or 2 OG's. But lately - last year and this, a little rebirth is coming into effect. We've been getting together lots with some Lane Tech seeds (the ones who remain after weeding out), and other titsola people from around the city who have been coming out all the time and are really cool... And there are 3-4 active OG members.
~~~~~~~
Non-footbag
I've never been into partying; I'd rather chillax like a mo. Lately though, I want to party. Including meet new people and such. Only thing is - my friends are chillers, and don't have the resources or desire of meeting new people per se.
Something related, but which I've always wanted to do, is to go to one of the hot spots for spring break. I wanna do it for 2007 with lots of friends.
Also i want to go to Europe next year for a few months, and learn language and culture. We'll see if that happens though. Gotta make some loot for that. I just wanna start from scratch - grow up a little (but only in the good ways such as self-sustaining, confidence, culture, different perspective, meditate on my identity and life in general, etc), and have fun.

Weird talent I rediscovered the other day that I used to do as a kid - roll my stomach!

Another weird thing. I started questioning common religion long ago, when the silly stories didn't make sense. And all the stories that had to be changed to fit in with scientific discoveries, etc. Science seemed to make sense. It uses evidence and proof - things which as humans are fundamental to us - unlike faith (fear is fundamental though).

But, the thing is - if u go far enough, and are familiar enough with statistics - u start to wonder how the universe and life could be so perfect. For example, Water is the only substance that shrinks as it cools till 4 degrees C then starts to expand again - making it less dense than it's liquid counterpart when it freezes. This allows ice to float, rise to the top of lakes, etc. and not freeze all water and kill all life in the sea.
Another example is the energy levels of electrons - if they were slightly different, atoms wouldn't exist, etc. And then again u realize, not everything is figured out. string theory - bullshit! Other advanced theories, may not even be right. And even if they are. What if there is a God? I've never discounted it b4, though I still discount the major religions, but these point I just made make it seem even more likely argument for a God-like thing. BUT, then again, what if this is just the way things are. Things seem so perfect for us to exist, but that's our point of view. Another existence for other beings could be possible if physics was different.

I forget my point. Just that - when i was little I felt that science knew it all, and was a direct refutation to religion and spirituality in general, but as u learn more, you know that nothing is solved, and questions regarding the univere and life and existence will always be probable to ask.
I have always really felt this way, and the more I learn the more I'm not convinced of anything.

JAM
I'm planning a kick the week of the 28th @ UIC. It's the first week of school, and should be lots of people. Hot chicks in shorts. Interested people wanting to kick. I'd like to go @ 12 since that's the most busy the quad gets. Or maybe at some welcoming party with lots of people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John, we were actually talking about coming to Funtastiks, but wanted to wait till last last minute to decide :D . We have car problems in the sense that we don't have a reliable one, and also I started this consulting gig that goes thru September...
BUT it's still a possibility.
Al, Props on all that flipside crazyness. Booge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

CAR
I finally glued and installed my headliner, installed my carpet, panels, and I'm so happy. My car is so much more quiet now with the carpet in. I still have to put on the door panels, and fix the passenger side lock, and spray some white over the rust. I'm really happy doing this stuff. I'm not even worried about fixing certain things, cuz it's not worth it anymore. It saddens me, but that's how it is. I just want to enjoy it with everything back in, cuz I may get rid of it soon.

Session today @ Portage with Josh. Very fun, energetic, and good footbag. Beautiful weather. Sunny and slightly cool.
I pushed myself to stay in high energy throughout. I was breathin hard most of the time. I made sure to do long strings like I've been wanting to. Passed on ideas of big moves sometimes in exchange for strings. I concentrated on variety, and did some different stuff. Long strings.

My whole body felt involved. Upper body alot. Energywise, I'd be in the middle of a string and focus on keeping up the energy . I'd drop in the beginning and keep going. I'd miss a move 3 times, be tired, then hit the move after with an even harder mover after. I was bouncing all over. Control out of anything and fun is what I want.

1.5 contacts short of rubberman.
A couple toey triages
an ok jani walker
whirl>dirifter>whirl>dirifter>whirl>dirifter>whirl>dirifter>whirl>dirifter (something like this many)
pdx blender BS, a bunch of blenders throughout.
15+ gyro pickups BS
spinning butterflies.
2 ripsteins
paradom swirl

I'd like to work on strings still with more variety to get some default cool stringing.

Gyro Pickup both sides = G
Pushups = Pu

Generally I've been doing 100 Gyro Pickups and 100 Pushups @ night under the street light in my alley. At night so that I don't have to wear sunglasses which I do have to do now for my sleep experiment during daylight outside. I thought 100 (50 BS) was a good number to do everyday for a week in order to school spinning>dexing a lot. It has gotten better simply by practice and no modification of technique. And it generally only takes 30 minutes to do the 100/100 drill. I would play longer than 30 minutes, but I play at night b4 sleeptime 1100pm for experiment, and don't have much time. I need to start earlier.

23AUG2006: .5hr. My alley @ night.
10G, 20Pu, 10G, 20Pu, 10G, 20Pu, 20G, 20Pu, 20Pu

25AUG2006: .5hr. My alley @ night.
10G, 20Pu, 10G, 20Pu, 10G, 30Pu, 10G, 20Pu, 10G, 25Pu
I had very controlled, warm, grippy feet tonight. Not just tonight, but lately I've pondered it. Maybe broken in shoes are a part of it or just a good warm up. It's so great when you can feel the ground through ur shoes. You get warm and your feet get grippy, like a racecar warming up its tires.

26AUG2006: 2-3hours. Zach Jam.
I was stressing that it was going to rain, and not having talked to Zach till the morning of. Thanks to Zeke for coordinating this Jam with me. I guess this is how we normally set stuff up. :). It turned out being a great day though. Lots of fun, and lots of good footbag.

I was playing well, feeling in control, medium-long strings, some cool combos:
Barfly>barfly, Bedwetter>string>Barfly>DDD, Blurry Whirl>Whirling Swirl, paradon swirl, gyro pickup>DLO almost bsos, couple of good jani walkers. All combos first time! (cept maybe barfly>barfly) and blurry whirl>WS was first attempt ever.

When I came home at night I saw a praying mantis chilling on top of the car in my backyard driveway. I took pics/vids and will post one of it when I get to a faster computer. I prolly blinded the poor guy with the flash.

27AUG2006: .5hr. My alley @ night.
17G, 30Pu, 17G, 30Pu, 17G, 20Pu, 3 Vortices BS, 20 Pu

I went to open the gate to the alley and saw something where I was about to grab the gate with my hands - the Praying mantis! He was right there chilling, sideways. He watched me the whole session. I thought maybe it was my future self time-traveling in an inconspicuous way. But a squirrel woulda been more discrete as praying mantises are not common round these parts.

Hey bro, I keep forgetting about your desire to learn the arts of confidently socializing and meeting new people.

As you know I have been actively doing the same with much success.

We will have to plan something out one of these days and make a night of it.

And the best part is i never have more that 2-3 drinks so you wont be the only sober person, You can socialize and party with drunks without being drunk. It actually makes it easier to do well.

Then after we party we can have a convo about religion, I would be considered an athiest but i like to think its only for lack of a better term. I believe in acknowledging the beauty and balance that nature creates for us to survive.

I see the human act of having faith in a higher being in absolute relation to our reliance on tools and symbols. Religion, mathmatics, Art, Spoken language, written language are all things created by man none of it is reall they are all just symbols and tools.

Technically the cave man did not need a wheel but he created one anyways.

What is reall is the instict of survival, no matter what you believe no matter what species, gender, race, and exct.... you are we all share two goals procreation and survival. everything in between is just a tool or a symbol and yes that includes human emotion, you dont have to be happy to survive...... but it helps :)

Mon-Tues = rain

Wednesday
Played @ UIC with Al. Music, dunk tank, lots of people, free food (pizza, hot dogs). I played well and it was fun, but I couldn't stay long cuz I had an appointment to keep.

Night Jam @ Welles. Fun, but I couldn't really play cuz I wasz playing earlier. I thought of hitting dlo'ing toe from clipper and almost did. Nathan hit many new moves tonight.

Thursday
Rode bike with Zeke to Lake and down the coast. Can u call it a coast if it is on a Lake? Even a huge lake like lake michigan? We rode lots, and saw some beautiful scenery. We also saw bizzaro Norhth ave beach by montrose beach. Saw the dog beach, which I want to take my little one to. Later we came home, ate, then hooked up with Nathan to kick @ Welles. 4 square.

Friday - UIC. 6 hours, not all of them kicking.
Tom, Zeke, Reile, Freddy, Martin, Obed, Mike M., new guy Nick, couple other new guys.

A lot of energy. It's so fun to have long strings and have energy and go fast, and do some cool combos. I still need more variety and consistency, but thats the way it goes, building on up. thats how i got here.
Blurry whirl>whirling swirl again - so easy. Couple ripsteins. good janiwalker. good triage. Later on I was snapping. Longish strings.

I realized that a few solid consistent moves, lead to good string length. My few solid consistent moves are ripwalk, whirl, good swirl, pdx/bubba illusion, good eggbeater, dlos, good paradon, barrage, drifters, stepping>whatever easy (clip, legover..) , pixie>whatever but not as good as stepping.
Ducks are getting better, but spins will sometimes lead to end of string. I can't wait till I can spin all over the place. Blenders pretty consistent, but dont really use them. don't really use eggbeater that much either.

Anyway the point is that a few good moves lead to fun in the form of long controlled strings.

Freddy has a nice pixie set, and working those ducks well. I thought Mike would be rusty, but he started busting well too. Too bad he's so busy with school. I remember that. Too busy to practice even once a week. But with enough organization it would happen. You know the more stuff you've got to do the more u can handle it seems. But i know howit is to be in the middle of all the work, and tray and think of squeezing in something not essential into ur week.

After shred, talked philosophy/sociology with Mike. Really good conversation.

For Mike, and the freshie kickers Matry and Obed, and for my other homies, and for the atmospehere, and for the good footbagging prospects @ UIC, I'd like to visit again perhaps next week. FUN FAIR!

So afterward. I was so hungry cuzse I hadn't eaten or even had a sip of water all 6 hours. Then I rode my bike like 2 miles to my friends house, then 2 miles back to my other frend's. I forgot it was his bday party, and I just happened to show up. There was loads of BBQ, and lots of cool people to chat with.
I talked to Avi a bunch - he's so cool. Avi and Johan are really cool people. Got to chill with Donny, Karl, Adel, Karen again like the good ole days. There were some new peeps. Talked to Leo about Russia's economy.

After a shitty morning, the afternoon and evening were great. Yin and yang?
