I've actually been considering it. Who knows though. Right now I'm in Nice and it's okay but definitely not my favorite place so far.

The catacombs in Paris sounded awesome - that's definitely something I want to do when I make it out there.

Not much going on in my life. Might play footbag with Brian tomorrow. Been kicking most days but nothing amazing to report.

Nice turned out to be alright, but it's definitely been my least favorite place I've visited so far. But then again, the other places have been SO amazing that it's hard to compare.

In other news I have recieved my tax return, paid of my debts, still have a little money left over, bought an ipod nano and have started playing hard every day - apart from yesterday when I tried to film some stuff and found I had a chest infection which has almost gone away already but was annoying. I still hit some stuff like a few runs starting with dom>dom and 4 consec pixie taps but I was aiming to at least equal my records for those so I wasn't happy with the results.

Also I went and saw Footy Legends with my brother and his girlfriend on Friday night - awesome Australian feel good sporting movie - everybody should see it. The sport is rugby league and Emma hates sports movies and rugby and even she said it was a good movie. Also it has Ahn Do in it, who is my favourite Australian comedian. I doubt it will get a release outside of Australia so you should all buy the dvd instead. I am mainly promoting it because when we went and saw it the three of us were the only people in the cinema - which for a friday night with the film having opened last week was pretty woeful. Still it is definitly my favourite film of this year I think - although I haven't seen very many films this year - v for vendetta, pirates of the carribean 2 - that might be all - although I have recollections of something near the start of the year. Anyway Footy Legends - gets a big recommendation from me - especially if you are Australain and play sport

Not much to report but I had a really good constructive session today. I pretty much entirely drilled normal whirls (clip set ss) but made some significant progress on my form. Obviously this is a very easy move for me but I feel like hitting a move well is like 1000 times better than just hitting a move - I would prefer to be able to hit 5 guiltless with perfect form than 50 fearless with bad form. So I was happy

I also hit whirr>barfly repeat which is cool I guess but probably something I could have hit a year ago.

I had another good session last night. Did lots of blender work.

More significantly I watched a movie from Finland that was on tv called "Frozen Land". The tv guide says about it -" blah blah blah... Frozen Land is an intense, fast-paced and realistic depiction of today's Finland...."

If this is a realistic depiction of Finland I am never going to go there. This was the most depressing and sad movie I have ever seen. It was like a torrent of gloom. At the end of the movie one of the characters says (paraphrase) "Even though we are all sad all the time, I feel that in the end it will have to turn out ok otherwise nothing makes any sense". I guess nihilism is alive and well in Finland. I very very rarely cry during fictional movies but at the end of this I shed a tear (only one). It was very engaging and well made but so depressing. I had to watch the episode of family guy where Peter trys to breast feed Stewie just to stop myself from killing myself - that's how depressing it is. Ok it's not cool to joke about suicide but this was a seriously bleak view of humanity.

yeah that movie sucked, I've been depressed since seeing it. Which is a little ironic because one of the themes of the movie is that unhappy people push that unhappness onto everybody around them. Damn those unhappy fins.

Anyway I had a video session last night but have since discovered that my computer hates 2 gig files so probably it will be lost to the void.

I hit a couple of nice runs - one that started with grim reaper - which I haven't hit in a while and another that began with super nova>dimwalk>ripwalk>ripwalk>blurriest>stepping clipper>osis and then like 15 more contacts I think.

It was good to look over things on video. I think I can improve a lot of stuff. My supernova set is neck high

Also I really do hate birthdays. Either you lie about your presents and say you like them or you are honest and piss people off. Whatever. From now on I will only tell my parents good things, even if they aren't true.

Yeah it was like a few weeks ago but it's not "the only reason" I hate birthdays. In fact I would go as far as to say it's not a reason at all, it's just a reason I mentioned that I hate them. Actually hate is too strong a word, they're just silly and more trouble than they're worth.

So this started a while ago but today was a day of celebration!

I was arrested about a month ago for "failing to comply with the direction of a police officer". Basically I was outside a club, a bouncer threatened to beat me up, I told him if he touched me I would call the police. He threw me to the ground causing some grazing. I called the police and they told me to go home. I didn't and they arrested me and my friend.

Today was my court date and the charges were justifiably dismissed because there were obviously other factors, the police didn't give us a legal direction (they can tell us to go home for 4 hours but not for 8 which is what they did) and obviously I am person with good character and understandably had a right to talk to the police when I was the person who called them.

Anyway it's good that I escaped a conviction or even a fine. That said in many ways the legal system sucks. It sucked that I had to pretend that I was sorry for not going home and that I had to pretend that even under those circumstances I was sorry. It also seems very unfair that because I had a lawyer I got to jump the que and be seen as the very first person for the day, while all the people who were there before me who didn't have lawyers had to wait until after the people with legal representation were dealt with. It was a good opportunity to wear my brothers $1000 suit though and I guess it was definitely a learning experience.

Being arrested was also a bit dissapointing - I wasn't handcuffed, finger printed, photographed or put in a jail cell. I basically didn't get any of the experience of being arrested. I will demand better next time.

Since Jeremy left I'm going to claim this thread as my own. I do live and play footbag in Hobart after all.

Anyway, haven't really played in over a week. But in the mean time, my footbag apparently went through the wash undamaged. So massive props to me (or I guess, Jeremy for making a bag that doesn't fall apart in the wash).

I've been to sore most of this week thanks to our training session for the Law v Engineering (Aussie Rules) footy match that is on friday. I'm massively unfit, but I'm thinking if things are going badly I'll get Jeremy to take over my place for the second half.

As soon as the game finishes I'm off to Ulverstone (on the NW coast of Tas) for some massively wank conference. Should be a good place to lash the sack as we like to say. I'm a little pissed though, because the guy who is organising (who's a friend of mine) it had a go at me for not telling him that I'd be late getting there when I told him I wouldn't be on the bus. Which was a bit rich of him, given the original check I sent to him was returned because the cost and name that checks should be made out to was wrong on the application form. So good work him.

I'll definitely hack soon and report results back here.
