long distance relationships are really really frustrating. anyone else have any first hand experience of how sucky long distance attempts can be. i miss my g/f so freaking much

Yeah but it was definitely my fault for not thinking the relationship would work and not making any effort to make it work.

They don't work. NYC and California doesn't cut it, distance-wise.

Furthest I've been involved in a girl with was Tacoma-Seattle, and that still didn't work out.

One of my best friends was in a longterm relationship through all of last year. The girl was a senior in high school and he was a freshman in college. They talked well over a half hour every night and were constantly in touch. She dumped him as soon as she graduated because she wants to be free during college.

Even if it does work ITS LONG DISTANCE, so whats the point?

If a girl/guy is worth forgeting about all the THOUSANDS of people that are around you, than they are worth waiting till you deside/have the ability to move and make it work.

Yeah. My mom and stepdad met online and kept a long distance relationship from Pennsylvania to Georgia for a few years before marrying.

I am about to start one in september. Laura leaves for ottawa for med school and I will be in guelph doing my masters. Thats about a 6 hour drive apart for at least two years until I finish my degree.

I think they definitely can if you put the effort in. More to the point, I think that they can work if it's an already established relationship, rather than a budding one.
