I feel you, I'm pretty anti-drug for myself, but I hang with a lot of druggies so it's fine, but one day I was in my parents room looking for my birthday presents and aI found pot and a bong, dude, I flipped out, that was a perfect way to describe it, unreal, I freaked, and I'm still kinda' freaked and that was over a year ago, think about it, a 12 year old finding pot...wow, that was a long time ago...

I can totally relate to your story. My mom, my sister and I shared a space cake a few years ago.

haha thats a funny story. brinard and i smoked with his mom the oher day out of his huge bong... and i know brian says that was the weird part... but it wasnt. smoking with her boyfriend is weirder. he thinks bongs have carbs and couldnt understand the concept of the slide. 60s stoners know nothing about "new" things.

Tom, it was great to be over yesterday, thank you, Peng, and your parents for the hospitality and company.

Props on fusion again, and the symple / symp run! Thanks to your pointing out the symple aspect of DLO, I've been hitting both sides much more consistently and effortlessly!

I can't wait til Kickass 2. Seriously.

I'm pissed off so I punched a door. There was a tack sticking out so now my hand is all bloody.

I don't like it that there are things in my life that make me this mad.

I can relate a bit on the temper side. I used to get vicious pissed at all sorts of things, but I've improved a bit in recent years. I think one thing that helps a lot, is realizing how much power you have over how things affect you, or how you react to things. Events are only as bad as you allow them to make you feel. If you are able to be less angry/frustrated about some stupid shit, then you have already made that thing less bad. I'm not explaining this real well, but maybe you can see what I'm saying.

Like, if you missed your bus, and you get really pissed off, its like 2 bad things have happened: you missed your bus, AND you are really pissed off. The fact that you are pissed off makes the bus-missing that much worse. BUT, if you miss your bus, and then force yourself to be cool about it, then you can feel good about controlling your emotions, and in retrospect the bus thing, well, that still sucks, but it doesn't suck nearly as bad, cause you didn't let it get to you. You won.

I kinda developed this attitude after playing footbag and getting frustrated with bad sessions. It just didnt make sense, and wasn't fun. Now I have a lot more fun with the footbag.

I hope this didn't come off preachy, I just can relate to that whole getting- mad- enough- to- punch -things feeling, and I wanted to share the approach that helps me deal with that.

The reason I came into your blog in the first place though, was that I re-watched your old vid "Taishi visits Kingston" and I really loved seeing it again. I love the song, and theres such a nice vibe throughout. I also love how clean your double dexes are.

Hope you feel better.

Hey Ken,

The approach you described is precisely what I normally do actually, Ive even found myself 'preaching' it to others.. I just couldn't hold back yesterday.

After my bad start to the day where I punched shit and bled I went and played footbag with Pengpeng. She was feeling gay and sore and that kinda got me uncentered. I wound up punching a metal pole with the same hurt hand, fucking stupid.

I tried to stay positive, I wound up breaking a number of my records actually.

I got...

- inf x 136 (old rec was 108 I think)
- plo x 36 (old was 22)
- flo x 11
- blender x 4

I got so mad that I still can't spin.

Why can people spin so easily and I can't make ANY progress on it no matter how much I drill it??
At one point I remarked "LOTS of people can spin that can't do this" *blurriest first try* "or this!" *other blurriest first try* "So what the fuck is wrong with me??"

No really, what's wrong with me?? I can shred genuine dammit! Why are none of those genuine contacts fucking spins??

Enough bitching, life is great!!

Really, I am a very happy guy, maybe I should just write about happy stuff in here.

Just work on it, your body will work out the kinks by itself to make it as efficient as possible

Yay! Today was fun!

Pengpeng and I both studied and did homework in the morning after getting up early and having breakfast together.

After that we relaxed and stitched and stuff and then went and shredded.

The shred was good and we both played well. I had some good moments that I was stoked about! I could spin today! well.. way better than ever before, I will keep working! I feel encouraged!

Hahah I couldn't help thinking about what henry said above each time I went to spin. :)

Here are my highlights:
- sailing butter bsos
- plasticman first try
- dropped the last contact of blubberman
- rubberman a few times for fun
- shitty side whirrrrrrrr lots of times! :D

My whirr's have been annoying lately, the other day I just realised that I could hit whirr on one side real easy, like out of nowhere. But my other side just couldn't make sense of it! So annoying! I don't have a flipside whirl or anything, my head just went retarded when trying to time the other side.

So I had been thinking alot about whirr and what it felt like to do it right and what the pros in the whirr tip thread said and I fiiiiinally made progress on my other whirr! It took a little while but I hit whirr on the bad side several times and then at one point I said to Peng "I am going to hit whirr bsos." and then I hit whirr BSOS first try!!!

Oh yeah!!! and I can blender now!!!! Finally!!!! So look forward to my next video where I will be spinning and blending and whirring and shit!

Oh! and I hit pdx blender first try both sides out of nowhere! bam!

Footbag!!!

Oh, and KICKASS2 is coming together well, EVERYONE WITHIN 8 HOURS DRIVE ***MUST*** COME!!!!!!!!! you will regret it for the rest of your life if you miss it!!!! :D

Will you send it soon?
I miss you.
Oh! And I have to get some tips on apples someday.

One more highlight I forgot, I hit bubbabeater bsos for my first time! yippee!

Man, there is something so rewarding about hitting a trick bsos! I know it's not cool to alllllllllllllllllllllllllllways go for bsos (esp. in a circle) but when you are just practicing on your own and you are doing it just to prove to yourself your mastery of the trick... gosh.. it's wonderful!

Pengpeng was playing okay yesterday too, she's starting to get alot stronger and more confident and I'm so proud of her! :D

Oh! another highlight, I hit spin x 5! that's my record. :)

I think I can hit rubberman with reactors soon, I tried yesterday and it didn't seem so bad, though it was my first time stepping out of reactor.

I bet I can hit dominatrix finally, fury too for that matter.

The other day I hit blurry whirl>stepping whirl>blurry whirl>stepping whirling kick the bag. I will get that repeat soon, it's easier than I thought.

I tried torque>gravedigger yesterday and it felt fucking crazy!

Oooooooh, I bet now that my spinning is making progress that I will be hitting mobius alot soon! eeeee!

I did symp mirage>legbreaker bs, I like odd feeling links.

Speaking of odd links I also did dso>toe torque bs. I should really do toe torque more, it's easy and it looks cool as heck.

I think I talked more about footbag in this post than I have in like.. years in my blog.

Also, "years" ???? hahah my blog (like many others) is yeeeaaars old!

Imagine if I had kept posting as much as I used to, it'd be like 150 pages by now.

I appologize for posting so little in the past, there have been so many amazing and life changing things that have happened that I have neglected to post about here. It's most often because those things are so overwhelming that I don't have time or space to write all the things I am feeling, nor would I ever be able to properly describe the complexity of the situation.

I have been keeping up with my working out, I want to get fucking ripped. I think Ales in 2003 is a good goal. I want pecs motherfucker!!

I am tired of looking like a little scrawny boy, I realised that I am not strong enough to be one of the best shredders.

I need to take my leg workout more seriously and start putting more thought into what exercises I should be doing to strengthen the muscles needed for footbag tricks.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I want to be one of the best dammit!

Why the heck should I not want that? I am shaped right, I like learning, I am almost strong enough, I have pretty good crank, I have a strong foundation of tricks. Shit, I want to really push it and see how good I can get!

This post is really long because I am procrastinating, I am supposed to be studying German.. I needed a little break.

poo.. break time is over.
:(
see ya friends

It was around that time that I first started working my legs seriously that I gave up practicing footbag. Around september of last year I used to do both (did both footbag and leg resistance training for over a month) but around october and november when I started to truely work them properly I would get terrible DOMS two days after leg day that would last the rest of the week till it was time to work legs again. I just couldn't motivate myself to shred when it hurt to walk. So I choose working out and gave up practicing. At the beginning of the summer I got fed up with the constant leg soreness and gave up working out my legs (excepts for calves which I still work hard with little to show for it) and now I don't do either (practice or work my legs).

IMHO you don't need the type of strength weight training gives you to play footbag well. The best thing to do to get better at footbag is too practice footbag.

Anyways that is just my warning, don't do what I did....

Dude PROPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :!:

That is SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

'That' being all the shit you have hit, consecs, AND the door and metal pole (idiot  )

I aswell have been working out, and it has shown in my game SO MUCH! I have so much more control! The problem with me is that now that work started, I get home everyday at about 6:30, which is also the time that I get up in the morning, so I sont have much time to do anything. Oh well, I WILL STILL DO IT

Keep it up yo!!

I challenge you to beat MY infinity record (x144). Then I will beat yours, and challenge you again!

Haha you're on TJ!

I tried once or twice yesterday and I only got something under 100 and then I didn't care anymore, I will try again next shred.

I played solo yesterday and it was okay.

I filmed so I will make a video.

Here are highlights:
- whirr bsos again (on tape)
- tom>osis>inf>rpt>bw>o>i>rpt>blurriest>o>i>rpt>far motion>i>far motion drop (on tape, also first try)

uhhhh nothing else, I suck.

I need to go study, I have one more final exam to write and a few projects to complete and then I should have my degree.

how fucking crazy is that?? I will be a really real engineer!
