Solo session today..lasted a half hour on the generous side. I'm not sure whether it's all the junk food I've been eating in this gorgeous state, the 95+ degree fahrenheit weather, or a combination of the aforementioned, but my stamina was non-existent today.

That's two posts in a row using that word. Bad sign.

Anyways..drilled flipside mirages and legovers. Consistency is getting a little better, but the learning curve is way too slow. I'm beginning to doubt a)my footbag ability and b)the toes of ClimaCools. I just don't know how these things are good for footbag.....maybe I should post in Bags & Equip., or maybe I should just get some control in my toe game.

Either way, I've loving Boise. I had an excellent day which consisted of: breakfast, reading, cookies and tea, more reading, ice cream and tea, more reading, dinner, and homemade biscotti for dessert.

I think I'm in paradise. Gonna go finish this fantastic book I'm reading, called Youth, (which, for better or worse, describes my life all too well), pray to the ClimaCool gods, and call it a night.

Awesome weekend in PDX. The US Open blew my mind. I'm so happy to have met a bunch of awesome players. My face got shredded off this weekend.

Moving on (I don't like to dwell on the past)..had an amazingly fun session with Brett today at Anderson park. Using my mother's new Sirius Satellite BOOMbox, we bumped some old school hip-hop. 'Twas fat.

I think I hit drifter on my flipside for the first time today, but I didn't seal it..so until next time I'll classify that as footed. Hit several strongside osis...ohmygod that trick is going to take me forever to learn. Tried flipside whirl a little bit...sigh. Gonna have to drill that one without the bag about 100 times before I can even come close to hitting it. I just do a vertical dex, with barely any circular motion. Basically I make a really narrow ellipse...which, as we all know, can't contain a footbag.

It's time to go back to skool. Osis, whirl, and drifter will be mine....

On the plus side, when I was trying to get 30 contacts, I hit 44 (composed of mostly 2adds, some pdx moves, and a DLO)! This is definitely an all time record..and I'm stoked to have done so in my ClimaCools. My consistency got so much better after this weekend..and I think my style in general is improving a lot due to some good tips from even better players.

I <3 footbag.

Uh, yeah.

Awesome to meet you as well, Scott.

And Sam..what can I say? Your shred blows my mind, and anyone who is down with donuts is down in my book.

Anyways, been a little bit since my last post..though I've played several times since. Had a fun session with Chad D. and Mr. Fournier tonight in Hermosa. I got pretty tired fairly quickly, but it was nice to play with them. Fournier was a lot more consistent than he was in Portland, and it's obvious he could play much better if he shredded more often. I know I wouldn't do very well if I had only played 2 or 3 times this summer.

Anyways, some highlights:
 eggbeater BS
 good string with DLO (maybe BSOS, I don't recall), ending in drifter>pdx mirage>drop
 whirl, sealed on my strong side x2
 gyro on one side

Couldn't get whirl or gyro BS, but I plan to have some solo sessions in the near future. Maybe I'll do that on Sunday....yes, Sunday. Good call.

It's late. I just had donuts. Perhaps that was a poor choice. Shower time.

I haven't been posting lately due to poor performance..I actually played on Wednesday with Funk. I was pretty frustrated with my game that night, though, so I didn't post about it. The only thing worth writing about, in hindsight, was getting pretty close to blur on my flipside....though I didn't hit it, so I don't know why I'm still typing about that failure.

Time for change.

Just played for about 2 hours with Fletcher Funk at the sunny Hermosa Pier. It was a pretty good session, though we wore down quickly with just 2 heads on that blunt session. Consistency was better than Wednesday, and moves in general were making more sense. I guess my head was just out of the game last time.

Some highlights:
 ducking clipper (couldn't hit it on my flip..but soon)
 12-14 infinities (a record for me)
 DLO bsos (this is becoming less of a highlight)

I think I'm figuring out my flip DLO: I'm too slow with the set. I just need to get it up and start the dexes. It's not really a difficult trick for how much I actually hit it. That will change soon.

Another thing I need to work on is ducking, specifically on my flipside. I'm going to try and just work head high clipper sets (Funk's idea ;)) without pulling them.

Hope to kick tomorrow with Chad and Fletcher.

I almost forgot! My very own Fletcher Funk bag!!!!!

The picture doesn't do it justice. It's gorgeous. Straight kicking, high flying action. Gonna be beautiful once it's fully broken in. On top of that....look at those colors and that pattern!

I'm so happy :)

Aside: Broken Spindles is fat. Fat. Fat. Fat beats.

If DLO BSOS is still sweet then today was a sweet session with Chad and Funk at Pacific School. We posted up in a nice shady spot on the asphalt under a large tree, and shredded in little childrens' faces.

..Okay, that last part wasn't true.

Anyhow, today was sweet + fun = excellent sesh. I was pretty happy with how I played, as I hit some fat links and such. I've been throwing down much more infinities, and even some waffen ss butterflies. That's fun, cause I am/was kind of getting bored with my game. But throwing in fun stuff like ss legovers/pickups are sweet, and the DLOs spice things up a bit.

As per Fletcher's challenge to hit "anything other than a 2add out of a DLO," (harder than I thought) I started just throwing in buttefly > pdx mirage. That wasn't much of a challenge, so Funk told me to hit DLO > symp. pixie > rpt. This took foreverrrr..he brought it up during the end of the session, but it was basically all I was trying when I got the bag. I couldn't hit it, so Funk suggested symp. pixie > symp. mirage > DLO..which I hit first attempt (and got close to hitting it BSOS).

For DLO > symp. pixie > rpt, I switched the side I was starting on, and finally nailed it. That felt nice :)

Some good runs..hit toe drifter both sides, though I could only seal it with a trick on my strong side. Got pretty close to drifter, but my clipper is all messed up form-wise, and it kind of hurt. Dropped some stuff on eggbeater, dropped some stuff on DLO, dropped some stuff on drifter.

Today was a good day, momma cooked the breakfast with no hog.
