I'll keep it chronological fo' all y'all hataz.

I woke up Wednesday morning and even then could I sense how dope the weekend would turn out. After having snagged the proper funding from the units I struck out into downtown Seattle to take care of business, most notably buying some new socks, having a quick session and hanging out with the lady. I only ended up spending some time with my girlfriend, but as it was, no complaints. Any plans I had with other local footbaggers that day fell through, save for Reilley making his way to my house at around eight in the PM. Reilley and I maxed out, indulging in some shred videos and a short session at the nearby tennis courts.

Time wore on, and eventually we were ripped from our session to go pick up the "surprise guests" David Clavens and Alex Strassman at the airport. We arrived there and managed to meet up with our guests. After hopping back into my dad's car, we made our way to pick up my sister from a friend's house, resulting in a tiny car filled with six people plus one antsy dog.

We got home and quickly it became apparent that the Lavers were expected to be strapped on. I guess even a six hour flight can't dull the Cleaver's blades. We ripped it in my house for about a half an hour or so before calling the session. Neither of us played fantastically, but it was a trip finally meeting and shredding with someone I've known for a year or two. It says a lot when that sort of transition is so seamless.

It was a relief finding out that Dave was actually funny as hell and not some uptight hodad. ;) Not that I had my doubts, but you know...

After shredding we tried to make it to bed but apparently not only is Dave a good hacky sack player, but a devastating Pokemon lister. All four of us stayed up until around 4:30 in the morning attempting to name all one fitty one. When we woke up at 7:30 in the morning the next day we pretty much felt like hell froze over. After dealing with the sleeping beast and her temper tantrums about us using her shower, we made it out the door, hopped on a bus downtown, and walked to the train station. The train ride down was pretty lackluster. We attempted to get some sleep after being dead from the night before, but to little avail. The appeal of naming as many pokemon as possible obsessively is strong in some.

I'll update more later, now that I have the formalities out of the way. Next up: later that day and the first epic shred circle of the tournament and later crashing at Red's house.

After disembarking from our extremely delayed train we took a cab so we could catch the tail end of the Pioneer Square shred. We arrived at the site to find a slew of footbaggers either hanging out or tearing it up. I met people like Mike Hansen, Emily Kulczyk, Matt Cross, Fletcher Funk, Jeremy Mirken and others for the first time here. I distinctly remember Matt Cross running up to me and jokingly giving me shit about something on modified I did and then running off and brazenly announcing that he had a fat gash on his foot. At Pioneer Square Alex and I were pretty famished so we went and grabbed two 'small' Big Honkin' Burritos from a cool vendor who we shot the shit with for a bit. Dave got one, too, but apparently his weak and girly stomach couldn't stomach the rigors of the Honkin'est.

Afterwards we took the Max (Portland's light rail) to a site nearer Colonel Summer's Park and were shuttled to the site in Noah's van. Northwest Fest was held at Colonel Summer's last year, as well. I can't speak for everyone else but I felt that it was a good site. It's hard to fuck up concrete and lit-up tennis courts in the summer. Factor in a rude amount of energy drinks (thank you, Rockstar), trucker hats with pornstars on them (thank you, Rockstar), and on-point staffing and you have a very well run event.

When we arrived at Colonel Summer's Dave, Alex, and I didn't waste any time. We strapped on our Lavers and hopped into a circle with Will Digges and laid down what was, for me at least, one of the most fun circles of the event. Everyone was representing their A-game, both in terms of footbag and comedic wit. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a while. It was also there that the infamous circle lock went down. Sorry, Matt. If I had known you were so blunted I wouldn't have jerked you around. ;)

After that circle people hung around for a bit and eventually were shuttled from the site to Noah's. On the way we grabbed some more tasty Mexican food. Not much went down at Noah's while I was there. Afterward's we bounced over to Red's and promptly passed out.

Next update: if my memory permits I will recount the entirety of Friday. Good golly this is about to take some time. Pictures, player recaps, shout outs, and what I took from this event will come after I recap each of the days, so stay tuned (all three of you). :)

Sweet, I guess that makes me number three. It's a nice read so far. It was super cool meeting you in person.

Waiting for the next post...

I'm not going to lie, I'm super jealous of your shred Sam. You are one of the few reasons I feel like getting better.

Maybe we could shred a little more next time, eh?

fucking hell! :P

I hope my style was looking exceedingly shitty in the circle comp vids. Whatever, I guess I have a good header as to what I should do to make my style look less like ass and more like footbag badassery. God damn, I hope if there's any footage of me from the Open that makes its way onto a special or whatever it doesn't depress me.

Maybe I'll continue my Open write-up later tonight.

I'll reserve judgment. Sorry for being a downer. :)

Danny, don't stop posting!! I love reading what you post in this thing. Why would you go and sever yourself from the footbag community? You've got sooo much potential!

Okay. First of all.... SARCASM!

I love reading and posting on this gorgeous forum. The problem is, my computer is now blocking me from going to basically any site.... So I have to go to friends houses(like now) and post stuff. And usually I am never at my friends house.

Its not that I really don't want too, its just that I can't.

I hope that makes sense, i'm completly out of it right now.

Peace Blog,
Danny Williams.

Danny doesn't want to post anymore because he posts in mine, and I don't post in "his". So I'll post.
