Locust's Nooblog

Post by LocustToybox »

Locust here and this is my "nooblog." Just transcribing the happenings in the life of a 16 y/o footbagger just getting started.

Yesterday I sewed my 2nd four panel bag. I filled it with dirt. Too bad the dirt was so thin that it seeped through any and every stitch :( . I opened it up today and stuffed it full of airsoft bb's. Much better :D . Usually I hit 6 or 7 consecutive ( ), but I hit 17 today with my new bag. I also stuck my first ATW! I landed 3 total and then I couldn't hit any more for the rest of the day :? . The Mr. Sandbag I ordered still hasn't arrived yet  . I been waiting for 7 days and I just shipped 2 days ago. I also just sent a money order to Kolo for a new gen Footfighter bag. Hopefully I'll atleast get my Mr. before I go to my grandma's house on tuesday.

I'm still having trouble convincing my parents that footbag is a real sport. I quit soccer to play footbag and my parents are pissed. I guess anything that isn't a school sport they concider to not even be a sport at all  . I've been showing my mom a few videos of pro shredders and I think it may be working  .

My bro comes back home after 5 weeks of camp tomorrow. I could never do that. He practically spent the whole summer at an all guys camp and he is three years younger than me. Yeesh. Hopefully he will come with me to my grandma's so I can teach him the ways of the footbag and have him aid in convincing my mom that footbag isn't just a "waste of time."

Until tomorrow,
Locust, out.

Hey man. Keep working at the footbag! You didn't post about whether or not you have lavers yet...do you? If not, consider getting a pair! They'll send your game through the roof!

I know what you mean also with getting your parents to think of footbag as something that isn't just a silly game or something. It's really difficult, but if you stick with it and get really good, then your parents can't say shit all.

Anyway, stick to it, and keep practicing!

I'm workin on the lavers skippy :D . Hope to order them sometime soon. The toe box on my shoes right now is pretty small. They are also some pretty heavy shoes.

Was just footbagging for a little while in my back yard. I am finally being able to mix in some toe delays with my kicks. I've also been throwing in some jesters, but I find it hard to keep the bag near me when I do it. It always ends up going in some wacky direction when I hit it. As for mixing in ATW's, I think I'll have to wait  . I've decided to stick to working on my rudimentary kicks (inside, outside, and toe) before I proceed any further. I'd like to be able to do atleast 50 consecutive kicks before moving on. That'll make it easier for me to learn tricks as I progress. I'm a bit skeptical of the clipper - I'm not quite sure I'll be able to crank my ankle enough to provide a flat surface for the delay.

Also, I never really gave an insight as to "who I am" at the beginning of this blog, so I've decided to do it now. As I said, I'm a 16 year old footbagger and I live in a small town called Wilmington located in Vermont. I go to a crappy school of which half the atendees are hicks. :?
Just a hint: if you ever visit my school remember to cover your nipples and your balls if you pass any hicks in the hallways. They like to twist nipples and punch people in the balls. You wont have to worry too much, though, becuase there are only a little bit over 300 kids who go to my school. Sad.

I did play soccer, but I quit for footbag. I sometimes play lacrosse. I also snowboard, skateboard, and mountain bike. Not to brag, but I'm pretty good at snowboarding  . I can do a cab 360 melon off of the last tabletop in the terrain park at Mount Snow :) . As for skateboarding, I'm not as good. I used to skate alot, but I only do it on and off now.

As for hobbies, I like listening to music, hanging out, and occasionally playing video games. I listen to a mixture of music; Thrice, Tool, Thursday, Saosin, Joy Division, Modest Mouse, Brand New, The Doors, Matisyahu, The Misfits, Pink Floyd, the list goes on and on. I guess you could say I like almost everything. I do however dislike some rap music. You know, the stuff that's like, "Yo, yo, yo, I got shot so I smoked some weed n****r and bust into my crib and shit." Lol. Hip-hop is cool, though.

Well, that's it for today.
Peace.

Hooray! I'm getting a cuddlebag! Ok, on to the blog part. I've been improving alot even though I've got a crappy crocheted bag to play with. My toe stalls are getting pretty good. I can transfer it from foot to foot easily. Still working on the inside stalls, though. For some reason I can't crank my ankle enough to provide the platform for the stall. The footbag just rolls right off. Hope my Mr. shows up soon...

Just got an email from a guy named Dave Lopp... says he wants to shred sometime. Finally I'll actually get to session with someone. Hope I can get some good pointers from him.

On an non-footbag related note, I just got that new game for the Xbox 360, Dead Rising. What an awesome game. Seriously, you need to check it out. Now. Haha... just kidding. But not really.

proper equipment really ups your game. lavers (or reebok g-units, or adidas climacool 1's) are the first thing you should buy before a good 32 tho. a four panel (esp a mr.) will due for now. jim penske only shreds with mr. sandbags.

Just got back from my grandma's house. I went in to Boston for a while and while I was waiting for the train to arrive, I was playing footbag in North Station. Some security guy asked me to stop after a while :? . I wasn't like I was getting in peoples' way - Every time someone was trying to get by I'd stop for them. Oh well.

Funny story about something that happened at my grandma's:
So my brother and I were running around on this golf course after hours, when we both need to take a piss. So I get the idea to piss in one of the holes. My brother and I climb a hill to reach one of the holes. I take a piss in it, but when my brother starts to take a piss, I see this person running up the hill after us. I yell to my brother and he pisses all over himself while we run through the woods. We end up hiding in the woods for 45 minutes before it is safe for us to get off of the golf course.

Got some free samples of Ultrasuede Elite in the mail from Toray. Can't wait to put them to good use. I'm thinking of making my first 32 panel using the Toby Template. Should prove to be interesting. I just need to get some good filler. I always end up using stuff that sucks. My last footbag was filled with airsoft bb's :( . I need my parents to pick up some steel shot for me because they won't sell it to minors.

Sorry, been active for a few days. Had no time to blog! Today was my first day of school being a Junior. It's gonna be a long year...

I made 2 four panels out of some of the suede, one of which is pretty awesome. Just finished it tonight. It's purple and brownish/gold. My other footbag wasn't that great because I gathered a little too much. This one however, is perfect. I want to test it out now!!!

After five days of sleeping by my mailbox and eating nothing but grass and dirt, my footfighter finally arrived! The fabric is amazing. I've only kicked it a few times. I almost scared to kick it any more.

Hopefully I get to shred a little in school. During my free period I'm not allowed to leave the room, though  .

Until I feeling like updating my blog again,

2 days ago after school I got 30 consecutive hits! I really feel like I'm getting better. I just modded my skate shoes to tide me over until I get my Lavers. I removed some of the padding from the bottom of the tounge to increase the size of the toe. I can already feel the difference. I'll be ordering some lavers very soon! I'm going to get the black and white mesh ones from footlocker.

It turns out the my purple and gold footbag stinks. I don't know why, (it was so well made!) but it does. I think it's a little egg shaped for some reason. Oh, well. Soon I'll be getting a cuddlebag. For now, my Mr. Sandbag is perfect. It stalls so nicely. I haven't had a chance to shred with my Footfighter yet.

On an unrelated note, my friend Tyler and I tried to make a "coke and mentos" rocket. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain. Basically, when mentos (mint work the best) are put into a bottle of diet coke, the mentos react with the soda and cause it to fizz like crazy. If you take a 2 liter bottle of diet coke and put about 8 mentos in it, (the easiest way to do this is to tape them to the cap so that when you screw the cap on they will be in the bottle) the bottle builds up so much pressure with the cap on that it will almost explode. If you shake up the bottle alot and chuck it at the ground, the cap will blow off and cause the bottle to shoot up to 40 feet in the air! Be careful, though, because when we did it we got soaked with the soda that came out the end.
