Circle kicked today at uni, that was fun :D There's definately enough people interested to get a club happening which will be a great excuse to have bbq's and play footbag. After circle kicking quite a bit recently my outside kicks are getting better again, not as good as last year but coming close, now I can't wait for net on the weekend :D

really eventful day today
started with some shred at federation square, lots of people turned up: Scott, Dan, Yuuya , Boyall, Brendan E and Alex

shred was good for me, some highlights included: merlin, fairy swirl bsos, fairy ss rev whirl, datw to inside (missed hand catch), flip paradon and double fairy. Two really good runs one had pixie mirage and pixie illusion bsos and the other was illusion x4>eggbeater> illusion > eggbeater.

after that me, Boyall and Brendan played 'old school' circle style, which was very cool. Some mega hacks, many with pinchers and flyers. I did some spinning outside kicks for fun.

Then we all went to Alexandria gardens to play some takraw which was awsome, when we got the rattan ball out, me Brendan and Boyall got 4 hacks using only headers :D

We played a lot of takraw which was great :D

as I got off the train coming home from the city I saw a neighbours house burn down. Surprising how quickly it went up, very suspicious, I'd put my money on arson.

new moves:
double fairy 8O
flip paradon

new links:
pixie mirage and pixie illusion bsos in the same run

edit: I hit toe gyro mirage right after we were talking about Lynton style moves, lol.

Try to come next week as it's going to be even bigger as Brendan E, Lynton, Scott, Dan, Yuuya , Boyall, Pat, the other Pat, Alex from UK and Alex Urano will be coming. If you came that would make a definate 12 people 8O + there's about 3 mabyes too :D

thx for props Jamie, I've been drilling the crap out of my toe game.

The uni club is looking good, I've almost got enough people signed up to get affiliation.

I went to the physio today which was good, apparently I have an inflamed meniscus in my right knee and my quadrecept muscle is putting pressure on my knee because it's tightened up. They massaged some of the muscles and ligaments and showed some good stretches that I'll do on a regular basis. Also no more symposium or whirl/rev whirl moves on my right leg, meh.

Was in the city today and decided to check out a shoe shop or 3

me: Hi, do you sell shoe insoles
shop attendant: Yes
me: yeah I play footbag, it's pretty high impact so I'd like to get some insoles that absorb lots of impact, the ones in the shoe are kinda crappy.
shop attendant 2: footbag? is that like "hacky sack"?
me: yeah
shop attendant 1: (pulls out hacky sack) give it a go
--hit symp mirage bs and datw (pain free)
shop attendant 1: 8O didn't realise there was that much jumping around
me: :) ok I'll buy them

Insoles are great, should have got them earlier, never really knew how crap the stock insoles were until now.

Had a short barefoot session at home, my knee just isn't feeling good and my sets are shit, anyway managed to hit atw x10 all directions and terrage bsos but flip was thin.

Awsome day today, had 8 people: Scott, Dan, Alex, Lynton, Brendan E, Jamie, Pat and Myself.

Firstly there was some shred at fed square, Lynton was hitting witchdoctor and neutron smasher like nothing 8O Impressive considering he hadn't played since March or something. Dan and Alex were also playing well.

Then we moved to Alexandria gardens and got the old net out, I shredded a bit then got the camera out and filmed everyone else for a while, there was some good stuff hit for the camera, Jamie filmed me for a bit but I couldn't hit my sick 1 :(

Net was awsome, some good rallies and everyone got into it. Good to see Pat make a return, I first played "net" with him a few years ago.

There was a bit of fucking around at the end, Pat tried the old doof stall, Jamie hit inside set symp rev whirling swirl and Lynton hit datw to heel stall.

My knee is mega fucked, I don't know if I'll be able to continue freestyle, well at least not for the next few weeks. I'm going to see the physio again on tuesday, hopefully I'll get an MRI scan to see how extensive the damage is. This will be my last post in this blog for a while, perhaps for good as it kinda depresses me now, I guess we'll see. In any case it has been good knowing everyone on Modified, I'll probably still post occasionally.

Yeah, this weekend might be a bit quiet.

As of yesterday the first lot of paperwork is done for the club, hopefully we'll be affiliated on the 14th september.

Physio sucks, but my leg is feeling a bit better now, also I hit toe set barrage today, woot.
