Textbooks--half.com

Post by Moxie »

Hey, I don't know how many of you have to purchase textbooks for school.

I always buy on half.com because it's almost always WAY cheaper than buying from a school bookstore. Today instead of spending over $175 on used books from the school bookstore, I spent about $40 on half.com.

I also listed 6 books on half.com today and 5 of them sold already, and I got more than $200 for them. I tried selling them back to the school bookstore and I would have gotten $75 two semesters ago, but by last semester they weren't using the books anymore, so they wouldn't buy them at all.

Just a heads up.

Yeah, half.com rules. I bought a math book there, saved 30 bucks compared to my bookstore, and it's probably nicer. I'm actually just waiting for it. Kinda sucks because I found out after that my coworker still had the math book I needed, which I could have bought for a lot cheaper. I will probably buy it anyways for convience, one book at school and one at home, and for friends too or something.

Actually my book came in the mail today, good as new. A few regular dings in the cover, but the binding and pages are excellent.

yeah half.com is amazing. my art history class required a book that was $90. i bought mine off half for $25. we ended up not really using the book so everyone else was mad that they spent so much. i got my $25 worth. i then turned around and sold it for $40 this semester.

half.com requires a paypal account. if someone here doesnt have paypal... dont sell to your school's bookstore. make fliers and tape them all over the place... although half.com is a way better alternative.
