i was wondering how many stitchers out there sew with there left hand or their right hand. as for me, i sew with my left hand.

if you sew righty do you sew with the pent facing you, cause i'm a lefty and sew with the hex facing me.

i use my 2 hands ... idk how you guys do to stitch with only one hand :-/ my left hand put the pannel toghetter and my right hand got the needle .. i need my 2 hands .. how do you guys do ?

I'm pretty sure he means which hand you push the needle through with. I voted right, because my left hand is like my left foot.

i stitch with my right hand holding the needle and my left hand doing what it needs to do.

but it really doesnt matter if the pent is facing me or not... because in the end i just gather it and tie.

I can stitch from right-to-left, or reverse, with either the Hex OR the Pent facing me...

I'm a righty.

It also depends on what kind of stitching method and thread I would use if we're discussing what panel is facing me. I usually have the pent facing me if I do an anchor and stitch with floss. The hex would be facing me if I I'm using thread.

edit: I stitch left to right, always. As for callouses, I don't have any because I use a Glover's needle, but I might change back to a regular one for stitching purposes. I do have a several of cuts on my left hand, which holds the panels in place.

I also cut my right middle finger with the Glover's needle, but that was due to carelessness.

ok ill clarify.

i stitch holding the needle with my right hand, starting from left to right with the hex facing me and the pent on the far side.

this is how i do most panels, although its been a long road gettin there

ive done it many other ways but find this to be the most comfortable.

anyone else have a callous on their thumb where you hold the needle and push it thru? cause i sure as hell have started to get mine back as ive been stitching more recently. ive seen richies collection of callouses... they're his template

My thumb definitely has a callous, even though I'm using a Glovers needle...

i hold my fabric in my left hand, and push the needle with the right.

my right thumb and first finger have calloses, and my thumb has a weird hole in it from pushing the needle.

its kinda like my fingerprint separated inside the groove, but didnt tear the skin... it jjust went deeper into my thumb.

its strange. i write/stitch w/ my right hand but my strong side, footbag wise, is m'left. mix and match.
