Ben, you HAVE to go to Funtastiks or Kickass! You'll LEARN SO MUCH by going to a footbag tournament/event!
Definitely school legovers and mirages. Illusions are cool too if butterflies are solid for you. Clip mirage, far/near legovers, pixie > clipper/ss clipper, etc. is a good foundation to start with.

i know, when matt was here for what...an hour? i learned so much and i improved a lot that day. i really wish i could make it but i just dont know if my parents would be into that. it takes a lot of convincing, plus i dont think they would want to drive that far just for footbagWasabi wrote:Ben, you HAVE to go to Funtastiks or Kickass! It's a little bit harder than mirage, but a lot more stylie. Generally mirages are done hippy and illusions are leggy. Personally I think they're a lot of fun.
Today rob came over to shoot his sick 1 and 3 with my video camera, he stuck his sick 1 pretty quickly, Pdx Drifter (i think). and he took the camera home for his sick 3, i can understand that, its hard to do it under pressure and he was on a bit of a time limit. as for other stuff, we shredded a lot together and shared what moves he have been doing, i was pretty impressed by robs pixies (nice dude!). he liked my inside pickup, i like it aswell, i kinda just tried it spontaneously today and really started nailing it, i put it into a run as well. something like this: inside pickup>same osis>butterfly>refraction. I'm really hoping to make that longer because i found its very fun to make long strings, haha. funny right. but it really is a new concept to me because i would always drop after about 2 moves, but today was quite the breakthrough. another cool one that i enjoyed but was a bit harder to hit was: inside pickup>osis>osis>refraction. that made me a little dizzy too, haha. but these runs are really giving me a lot of confidence, makes me feel like im not the idiot on the court. I liked robs bags too, his hania and his peng bags were so awesome (pretty aswell) one of the hanias was a little too filled but maybe because it wasnt totally broken in, im not sure i like thse filler eaither. the peng was sweet though, broken in and felt fabulous when kicked. he like my brian bag, i have started to love it a lot more, it sets like non other.hehe.
My girlfriend was here too. in the begging she was trying toe stalls (barefoot) she got a few and is pretty determined, im sure if i just give her a bag to take home she will start playing with it, she just doesnt like when i watch. then later when rob came she played four square while rob owned us both, haha. good job rob. damn spikes. after that she watched us shred on our own, i dont know if she was impressed or what. she refused to try toe stalls anymore because she felt really intimidated with rob being there.
Also hoping to go up to rochester this sunday, sweeeet. my mom said ok but i have to talk to my dad which is usually a killer, he thinks everyone i meet on this website is a rapist or something, i personally think hes just afraid of the internet. ha. at least he already knows matt cross, yay for matt cross! that would be a lot of fun and a good experience. hope to be there.

WHAT A DAY!!!!
Wow. That’s what I have to say. Shredding with the Rochester crew was nothing but amazing, even with some new guys there.... including me
I got their kind of not thinking I was going to be able to find everyone but I saw them almost right away, which was a good feeling. I walked up and greeted Matt Cross, still love ya dude. And also Mike Anello, it was a great pleasure to meet you. There was also Chris Dean who was ridiculously good and consistent...there was also someone named...Paul? I'm not very good with names, i’m sorry. They were all so nice and welcoming, not to mention amazing at footbag. As usual I felt extremely intimidated, not only was matt cross there but 4 other guys.... wheeew. What stress. I think my first "run" was butterfly>osis, ha-ha. And it was horrible, they probably thought I sucked? . I was so nervous my legs were shaking! At least I was next to matt, that made me feel a lot more comfortable, we were using is sweet mc #37, which was hawt. I didn’t think I liked it at first but later I got used to it. It was perfect size for me, which I really enjoyed. Anyway. At first I was hitting my normal runs while they were barraging and alpining all over the place. That was nice to watch but I dreaded when it was time for me to shred
. A little later into the session 4 guys abut my age showed up and we were like "yo, you wanna shred?" and they were like..."yea" and then we looked down at there shoes and Matt was like "yo, there shoes! They got the shoes!". Lavers of course, so I knew they were footbagers. We all split up into 2 circles, I went with the new guys and matt. They seemed like they were veryyyy new to the sport at first but they started to really show me what they got. One kind did like...symposium whirling swirl.... lol. That was really cool. But what really mattered was that it gave me A LOT of self-confidence when they showed up because I noticed how far I have come from in footbagging. i’m not saying they were bad, i’m just saying I was a little better. That made me happy. We all played with different bags, I think in the end everyone was shredding with one of my bags, ha-ha. That’s awesome. They really enjoyed the brinard bag and the Waylon. I started to try knew stuff after I got my confidence up and that ended up being a great idea. What came out of it was my first 4 add! Wow, i’m proud, very proud. Sidewalk was the one, stepping butterfly, yay! I’m still working on cleaning it up and being more consistent with my sets. I also did a few atomic sets, which was cool; I think matt was impressed which cheered me up. I’m still working on doing moves out of it. And dun dun dun.... toe drifter. I didn’t hit it but I am still rejoicing because I finally understand what "in front of the leg" means, ha-ha, i’m a fool. But I came so extremely close to it, just off of the toe!! GRRRRRRR. When matt was leaving he was like "toe drifter" and I was like, ok. So I tried to do it for him and yet again came sooooo close. He was happy though. Then I gave him a big sweaty goodbye handshake and hug (ha-ha) and said bye. I left a little while after that and was sad to leave but a successful day at that. I’m so glad my parents drove me out there!!!! When I got home I was so excited to try these moves but none were successful but that’s ok because I was super sore and tired. I also tried reverse whirl because I finally got my hippy to stop and my leggy to kick in, I think it was "the" but I don’t know. Oh well, that just means a good day of learning tomorrow.
Peace.
