id just pour the insides of the glowstick on your desired items.

its washable. ive got it on my clothes before, and it came out.

that way you could do it on your fav shred bag.

How to make a glow bag:

First, I made a little 4 panel bag out of a white sock. I decided on the 4 panel design to reduce the blockage of light caused by seams. Instead of doing a blind stitch to seal up the bag, I used a little strip of velcro, so that the LED could easily be inserted and removed from the bag. I named the bag sockbaby.

Next, I took an LED and attached it to a watch battery using tape:

I also painted my lavers with glow in the dark paint so that I could see where I was stalling.

Finally, I had myself a glow session (video):

Remarks on the session:

- The LED really needs to be firmly taped to the battery or else the LED will flicker. Don't use scotch tape and expect it to stay very well. Electrical tape is preferred.

- I played with the single LED on the battery for 30 minutes with no signs of dimming. An extra LED could probably be added to the circuit to increase the light distribution (at the exception of draining the battery faster). An extra battery could also be added with little deterioration in stallibilty. (they're very small). NOTE: I wouldn't use anything more than 4-5V on a generic LED at the risk of damaging the LED or causing it to explode.

- My stitching around the velcro wasn't up to par and by the end of the session one of the stitches was coming loose.

- A mini glow stick could also be inserted into the bag if desired.

- The camcorder wasn't sensitive enough to detect the light of the bag while I was actually footbagging (cameras tend to use a longer exposure in the dark which makes it difficult to see objects moving very fast). It also couldn't detect the glow in the dark paint on my shoes. However, I could see my shoes clearly enough and I'm sure anybody nearby would also be able to see both my shoes and the bag.

Yeah, so I'll count my project as a success. There's some areas that need improvement, but the initial testing looks promising. Definately, some black lights could improve the experience and some body paint on my legs/arms would make it easier to spin and clean dexes. I can't wait to try this bag out at the next night festival in edmonton...

I made one of these today. It is easy to stitch from the 12 panel template on .org. It is the most shreddable glowbag ever. On the picture there is only one of those chemi lights in it so its not too bright. With two it should be perfect.

Thanks Matze!

the sound on that video was crazy, what was that? and why didnt you play with the bag?

i think maybe being able to see knees would be important to understand moves like drifter....in the dark.
Plain, with everything.

I live in a haunted house. That sound was my aunt mable 3 generations deceased.

I did play with the bag. It was both fun and slightly "trippy".... Unfortunately, the bag wasn't bright enough to show up on cam when moving at footbag speed, so I cut all those parts out (i did actually hit drifter!). Unless I was pretty close to the camera (like knees not even showing) all you would see is the bag floating near the ground (my glow shoes didn't show up on cam) and the bag at the peak. Next time I play I'm going to put in two LED's and see if that does the trick. I'm also looking for glow in the dark tape to use on my legs.

Just some info on glow sticks. If you go to myachi.com you can find some very small glow sticks made to go in on a hand sack (which is basically a footbag for the hand). I used to do myahci, but it's very easy after a few days.
