Problem with the videos section

I can't believe my Sepak Takraw video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBrtDYZqoLE&NR ) was moved to the kicking circle. People can create threads in the videos section, the title for which says (no video), or threads advertising websites that might contain videos, and they don't get moved. But the video I link to, which is basically footbag but with a different type of ball is moved? Clearly, the rules for videos in this section must be better defined because under videos, it says:

"This is the place to post . . . and other vids that everyone can download. Post your upcoming vids for everyone to order!"

It says nothing about "footbag" in the entire description of the videos section. My video shouldn't be condemned to fewer views due to the error of modified admins and moderators to properly explicate sub-forum policy.

Takraw IS the first form of footbag, though, correct?

I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed in the videos section.

Perhaps people should have to edit the kicks out of their videos as well before posting in the video section.

As I see it, if adds are consistantly being acrued than it counts as footbag.

Ian, what if they're kicking a footbag?

I think this section should be for videos of people playing footbag. Not soccer, sepak takraw, shuttlecock, zocha, or anything else people kick besides footbags. While interesting and pertinent to us as kickers, I believe that videos of this kind of thing should go in the kicking circle.

This is just my opinion (the same that I've expressed to the other mods in the mod forum) and, as always, I'm interested to know what others think, and why.

I think the vid was awesome but I really don't care which subform it was posted in. Apples and oranges. There are bigger battles to fight.

A while ago it was made clear to me by a few other mods/admin that the Videos section should only be for footbag videos. That's it. That does include Net, Freestyle, Golf and 4-Square. Takra isn't any of those. If we have that in the Video section, why wouldn't we have the "freestyle" soccer-type videos in there too?

It seems like the line needs to be drawn somewhere, and it makes sense that "footbag only" is a reasonable place to draw that line.

I don't care where it belongs, symposium inverted half twisting kicks are cool.

i always thought the vid section was for homemade footbag vids to share, and the kicking circle got to hold all of the internet goodies.

But your original argument was solid, and I support your bringing this problem to our attention.

All jokes aside, a forum admin's purpose is to oversee the forum and make changes when needed. If an admin says that the Videos section of this online forum is for footbag videos only, then we must abide by that rule and expect videos posted here to be moved if not deemed footbag content.

I do agree that the description of this Videos section should clearly state the forum admin's true purpose for this section. Otherwise people will post videos here, regardless if they are footbag content or footbag-like content. Perhaps this would be a good time to update the Videos section description - hint, hint.

By the way, I posted some soccer freestyle in this section a few weeks ago. I apologize if this was not the place for it. If not done already, please feel free to move that post to the Kicking Circle.

At the time of this post there are 2099 registered users, 202623 articles in 9038 topics. That, my friends, is a lot to manage for just a few administrators. Please be respectful and most of all patient with them. They are human beings just like the rest of us.
