So I've been playing everyday for about the past three weeks or so. It's had its ups and downs but I kept at it. For about the last week I've been drilling pretty hard and its been paying off. Then I didn't play yesterday because I was kinda sore. I came back today and there was noticable loss in what I had drilled. It wasn't all gone though. I managed to hit some good stuff. But this is also bad because I'm going to New York tomorrow and staying there for the next 3 days. There's going to be absolutely no time/place to play. Worst case scenario: I lose everything I've drilled all week and give up on footbag completely because I'm lazy and stupid and don't push myself hard enough. Best case scenario: I was just a little off today and I'll retain everything and be able to contiue my hardcore shred forever. I'm hoping more for the best. We'll see.

Also, school. Right around the corner. A week from tuesday. Not happy. But there's nothing I can do about it so I'm just gonna have to work around it shred wise. Hopefully I can still play everyday since I'm not doing soccer this year even with work and homework.

Dave's gonna be leaving for school as well. Hopefully I won't crash and burn when he's gone. He's helped me a ton. I wouldn't be anywhere near this level without top notch shred advice, I don't care what you say. I can only aspire to make it to that level of skill.

Anyway, I think that that's enough for now. It's time for bed. I've got a 5 hour drive to look forward to tomorrow morning.

So the last week I've been taking a break and only played twice. I can only remember last nights though. I've been working on this list of drills for a few weeks now. I start off the session with warming up and then I go right into theses drills. I have to complete the list before I can just shred or try other stuff. I notice improvement everytime I complete it. I've also been getting some pretty long strings. Not as long as they should be now but longer than my usual average so it's still good. And they're not just easy tiltless strings. I have tons of threes and fours, like ripwalks, drifters, dlos, blah blah blah. Thats probly the reason why my strings aren't incredibly long, because I go kinda hard. But these drills are helping a lot.

School is tomorrow.

Not feeling very motivated lately. Maybe I'll take like a week off. Let my body get that want for footbag back. It's pointless to make myself play if it only halfheartedly.

Ok so I don't really know what happened when I made that last post. I just hadn't been feeling very into footbag the last week or so. Probably with scholl starting and also I worked 6 out of 7 days this week. That's about three more days than normal. Plus, I made the mistake of picking up a skating vid and popping it in. It made me miss the feeling of skating. But I have since convinced myself that its not worth it. And I like footbag a lot better. So that aside I just finished a pretty good shred. Not up to par but I haven't played in a week so I'm not totally pissed at myself. It'll all come back.

Highlights
spin clip>infinity rpt
a huge run with spin clip bsos and duck clip bsos
spinning clip times 2(the third was there but i tripped over a sofa)
twirl like 5 times(first time hitting it ever today)
some barflys
ducking clip times 4 first try

My pixie and stepping have suffered. But I'll get them back. I guess I can't be totally mad about not going to Funtastiks now because it's raining really bad everywhere on account of hurricane whats-his-face. Oh well.

I have really bad money saving skills. The camera is just one example. I can't spend money for a while or I won't be able to pay my car insurance. Still shredding as often as possible. Most of the good stuff I've hit lately is in the video, but there's some new stuff too, so I'm just gonna put it down anyway.

blurriest bsos
blurry whirl bsos
asassin
osis>blur bsos
duck>dive rpt
osis>spin clip rpt
ducking clip times 6 first try
spinning butter bsos
trying to hit some nuclear stuff

Thats about it for now. Gonna go shred.

My energy has been pretty sapped lately. I haven't been getting enough sleep. I haven't been eating right. I gotta change this so I can play for more than an hour a day. I still managed to hit some good stuff though.

dlo>dimwalk right smack in the middle of one of my longest guiltless runs(maybe 15 contacts) and I wasn't trying to go for guiltless
ducking butter>ducking butter

Once I change my lifestyle maybe I'll play a little better.

I'm not gonna lie, i've been playing pretty darn good lately. It's pretty cool. Even though playing solo isn't as fun as playing with someone else, it's not as bad as I had anticipated. Once you get past the first week or to you get used to it and thats one progression starts up again. And playing alone is probably better for your game, at least practice wise because you can really drill. It's kinda boring drilling when your kicking with someone else.

My birthday is coming up in a week or two and it kinda gets you thinking. When I was a little kid life was so much easier, simpler. You looked forward to your next birthday all year. Fun was riding your little red wagon down the driveway with your booger picking friends. It was spending hours trying to get your little arms to get that basketball high enough to go through the hoop. The worst trouble you got in was digging up your moms garden with your next door neighbor. Now I'm turning seventeen, I'm a junior in highschool and lif is going by a little to fast for my liking. You spend all your childhood longing until your old enough to drive. You didn't care what you wore and neither did anyone else.

Now I have to pay car insurance, $107 a month. When I was six, if I had $107 dollars I would've bought candy and some power ranger action figures.

And more responsibility is on the way. College, a bigger job, bills, taxes, marriage, children. And the cycle starts over.

it's not all bad though. Lets face it, footbag would be a little difficult at 7. I still think driving is fun althoug thats losing its effect also.

Yeah, that's true about drilling solo. I think on the whole, being a solo shredder has helped my game... I almost never shred, just drill. I don't think I could handle playing with others all the time, I'm so tuned into drilling now hehe.

It was interesting reading your thoughts on life... funnily enough I'm the opposite. I can't wait to get my license because it will give me freedom... I live in the country, cruddy public transport. I'm looking forward to a professional life and advancing my career, being proud of what I've acheived(despite being intelligent I acheived nothing at school). I certainly can't wait to find a girl I love so much as to marry... yet there's something in the innocence of childhood, that's for sure.

I haven't been able to download your recent vid with cleaver yet, but I will be able to tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to watching it!
