if and why you switched shoes

ive used lavers and clima 1s.

made the switch, cause i wanted a better toe area, and better support.

im expecting my new gunits to arrive today, or maybe tomorrow. ill edit my post accordingly.i needed some winter shoes, since climas are solid mesh.

I have used about every type of footbag shoe that I could get my hands on all done with different mods
(Gunits Climacool 1s and 3s Lavers with both the canvas modded off and 2 other pairs with the mesh modded off and 2 with the Shandle mod done to it nike frees 5.0)

My favorite shoe has always been the Shandles because I just feel my toe game is better with that mod and I switched shoes so often just so I could see what I like the best and I'm think I'm sticking with lavers after I just the Quantums

Rod Lavers!

I've used running shoes and heavy leather DBX boots back in the day, before Luis told me of the wonders of the Lavers. The running shoes were actually pretty good. Made by Sacony... Still got 'em.

I've used laver's but made the switch to clima 1's for a lighter shoe and for the better soles.

I have a brand new pair of clima 3's unmodded that I need to try, the have a better sole than reg. clima's and they have a more "upright" stance than having a sort of 'leaning' stance with 1's.

I use wicked lavers because... they're wicked. And because if G6s were a person, I would fight that person to the death. ...I hate g-units.

I started with regular cross training Adidas. I then changed to Puma Frankenclides & made the ultimate switch to China Lavers and then modded numerous laver variations.

I'm now a full fledged G-unit G6 shredder. I've switched for added cushion, support, better traction, & better inside surface. It did take me a couple months to shake off the natural feel of Lavers, but I'm glad I've stuck with G6's because they've treated me well.

I started with converses and regular China Lavers. They were both heavy as hell. Then I was tipped off by a good college buddy (who doesn't freestyle much anymore), about Rod Lavers. He had the pair of sexy reds, and I found my size for the reds on the World Footbag site. I think I was the last one to get the size 9 red too.

Anyway, I cut most of the canvas on them, replaced the insole, and did the Brocka mod for optimal shreddability, along with a huge lack of support. My feet always hurt in them with prolonged shred (probably due to poor modding choices or insoles).

I then switched to G-units sometime late last year. My views on the support are the same as HooD's, and it definitely helped my shred along the months. I don't mind the bulkiness of the shoe as it definitely helps your eye-foot coordination to look past that, and the sole's shock absorption was great enough to not replace the insole (which I liked). The only drawback I found was the the inside had a clipper rail to it, and I felt that it made my clipper game too lazy (which I countered with shredding with rolly bags). The toebox takes some getting used to since the lacing holes are much more different than lavers, but that is easily manageable I think. I'm still a huge fan of these shoes due to having no pain on my feet when shredding in them.

However, I have recently switched back to Lavers to focus a bit more on my form for clippers, and I haven't found much difference in the transition (probably because of my retort on the clipper rail). I still love the G-units however. The Rod Lavers and G-units are still strong contenders as shred shoes, I believe, even with Climas and now Quantums showing up much more in the footbag community.

first i used vans sk8 shoes, then I got some leather lavers and modded all the leather off lol and now waiting for a pair of red laver lo's

I use climas, but I have a pair of lavers. They are quite odd. Does anyone know what these are. Ok, they are dark green, up to the ancle and have tan trim. The back says rod laver. Oh yeah, the bottom is a tough plastic and very slippery.

I currently shred in the standard chinas and dont really feel like switching simply becasue they are so light and the surfaces are good.

Climacool 1's are my faviest.

At the end of my session today I tried playing in my lavers for fun... but it wasn't fun, I had awful sloppy style and I couldn't hit anything with confidence.

I can understand how lavers can be perfect for some people.. I am just not one of those people anymore.

I've played in (for at least a couple months each):

- Lavers (what I play in currently, four pairs?)
- Laver Milleniums (one)
- CT300's (two pairs)
- CT520's (two pairs, one slightly modded, one with the instep completely removed)
- ClimaCool 1's (two pairs)
- G-Units (two pairs)

After all of the testing I really just found that the Lavers were the best fit for me. A lot of overthinking a variable that didn't need to be changed was what made me try all the others out, and in the end I don't feel like my game has changed. Really, the only thing it's given me is the ability to talk about footbag footwear without talking out of my ass. There are a lot of newbies who talk about footwear, but are barely tiltless... so no offense to them, but I have to discredit their opinion. I can go tiltless in my skate shoes and guiltless in my bulky pair of unmodded CT300's.
