It took me about 2 months to master mirage both sides, then almost a year to get the rest of the basics down.

I played 2 hours a session, 4-6 sessions a week.

I also had someone at my level to train with, but only video to learn from.

My wife can hit legovers and atws bothsides and she hates footbagging most of the time. She has played less than 30 hours total in her life.

So if you love it, it will probably get easier. But even if you don't, you will still get pretty good with time.

I don't have the patience to read every response, but I've skimmed it and I can offer you a little more insight. First, I started freestyle footbag a little late in life, at around 30 years old. It took me FOREVER to hit clipper. Well, really about 3 months. But that's a really long time in footbag time.

You said you're using a crochet hack. If you want to play freestyle, you gotta get a good bag man. Even if it means just going to www.worldootbag.com and ordering a cheap sandbag from there. The first bag I used that was really stally and I liked was the 4 panel on there. The yellow/orange/black/white one (not the green one, that sucks) Also Mr. Sandbags are good, they're on that site too.

Getting lavers really helps as well. I never thought it would before I got them, but man it was like I didn't have to struggle just to find a flat surface to catch on.

One more thing. I lost about 40 lbs footbagging. I basically played every day after work. However, I was also walking home from there, which took about 30-40 min. But yeah, in the beginning I lost quite a bit of weight.

Anyway, the bottom line is if you love footbag, you'll find a way to hit those clippers. We've all struggled at that stage. It's the ones that get past it, and continue on to become good players, they're the ones that love the sport. Good luck man!

It just takes time to get used to. Just like it will be when you buy your first 32 panel. :)
