Hello Ianek!

This film was impressive! You can hit sooo many different tricks with `blink`.
Great flipside! I`m waiting to see your `full skills video` :)

See you!

Hmm, as I recall, I was one of the first (probably the first, but there was never really chatter about it in the pre-forum days) to be hitting Reverse Swirling Toe and Reverse Swirling Pickup. Their may be mention of it on the old list-serve.

I personally think "Blink" is a really terrible name. Let's have a tea party and talk about all the "Blinks" we hit. "Ooo I hit a Fairie Blinking Twirl today." Sounds like you just came from a Regional Tiddly Winks competition or a round of gay bashing with your buds.

You're not really naming a concept either. You're saying a reverse swirl is a "Bllnk" instead of a reverse swirl, when a reverse swirl isn't even really a reverse swirl. It's a swirl in the same way an ATW is an ATW whether it's in to out or out to in.

Wow, big props on being the first to hit that move.

i don't understand what you are saying about the name "blink" cause i usually speak french, it only seems that you don't like it and you are homophobic.

i am naming a concept, i think it's you that doesn't get it.
reverse swirl is to Leg over as reverse swirl toe is to illusion.

about ATW, i think it's a problem anyway that we call ss legover and ss pickup ATW.

keep on being negative, but next time you should PM me.

I don't like it and I'm not even on the same plain as homophobic.
I think the name is silly, but maybe it sounds better in french.

reverse swirl is to Leg over as reverse swirl toe is to illusion.
That doesn't make sense. Work on it a bit and get back to me.

So I can only be positive on the forum? I felt like my opinion that the name is terrible should be shared with others. I suppose I could have just told you and then the silly name would go on without further objection, but I thought this was an open forum.

Oh and by the way. Major props on your mastery of the moves. The vid is awesome.

I think blink is a sweet name.

And i also think that your anology about legover and illusion is perfectly reasonable, just like:

Rev swirl = whirl
Blink = monster
or
Rev swirl = whirl
blink = ss mirage
or
rev swirl = ss butterfly
blink = bubba

These are all moves that have been givin different names despite being the same thing but landing on a different surface.

That was a really fun AND impressive video to watch. Thanks for sharing, Ianek! It's my opinion that you have clearly earned the right to name the move. Plus, the name Blink is sweet. If that means I drink tea, then so be it.

Hey Nic, I can see what you're saying with the other two examples, but this:
Rev swirl = whirl
Blink = monster
really makes no sense at all :D

I may not be entirely familiar with the concept, I thought monster was whirling inside? Or is it whirling gyro inside? 8O

monster is swirling gyro inside. Nothing to do with whirls! and has a gyro and has a swirl (not reverse) :D No worries though it took me a little under a year and a dozen PMs with Jorden to finally understand that move :)

Back on topic:

I don't mind the name, but in general I'm not entirely pro-naming concpets that have been around for ages (unnamed)

I don't really see it as a concept.

Well, anymore than we would call whirl a concept.

I think you have nice a trick.

Since the Concept depends on it being at the end of the trick, I can see hitting stuff like
Gyro blink, spinning blink, stepping blink, atomic blink etc.

I don't see a way to do a blinking anything because it dictates a toe contact, and therefore
is always at the end of a trick.

I also disagree with you, brad. What you're saying is like saying whirl and pickup are the same move. Would you ever say pickuping op clipper instead of whirl? I doubt it.

I think blink is a sweet name for a sweet move. However, I also happen to drink tea, so that might be influencing my decision.

also, regarding your analogy (clip > dex > op toe : clip > dex > same clip :: toe > dex > same toe : toe > other direction dex > same toe):

I don't get it.

to Tsiangkun: you are right, concept is probably not the best word (i'm not that good in english), i meant "downtime trick".

and of course, "blinking" is totally impossible. like torquing or drifting, they are both miraging.

Ianek,

This move is awesome, your skills are awesome, your video is cool. I'm with the haters here though because I don't like that name, but thats about the least important part of it anyway.

I'm really joining in the conversation, though, to respond to what Max said:
monster is swirling gyro inside.
I don't care what Jorden says or does, Monster has been around since before he has been freestyling and Monster is not a swirling gyro anything. Monster is an extra weird inside stall (I'd call it a double-cross-body inside stall, but just as a simple way of describing an un-simple posture).

blurry symposium reverse swirl toe = blink

let's keep giving ideas, we will find something.
