Is it 'Improper execution' to plant on ducking pdx moves?

I can't even do ducking paradox, but in my head it doesn't feel like it makes a difference. Just a style thing I think.

Oh, I guess what I mean is the definitions for pdx imply that there's no plant during the move, so I was wondering if someone would still call say, Ducking Pdx Mirage pdx if the person planted before the dex.Cod wrote:Weird question. "The" term is used when dex is not clean and has nothing to do with planting.
But about planting I can say, it's better not to plant than plant.
To say something is better or worse, is an opinion even if it has strong foundation. But to say if it is right or wrong according to definition or proper form would be more clearly articulated.
So if I said 'Hey look, I just hit Ducking Pdx Mirage', and I planted before the dex, would I be wrong in saying so. That's my question.

Hm, I never used to plant but was told to. Since then I always plant... it certainly makes it more controlled and looks better... but now I'm confused
I am interested to hear the answer to this too, although in all likelihood I'll just keep planting, it looks much better. Having that leg floundering around looks kinda stupid and I don't care if I get called out for it

1. This has nothing to do with crispy/original moves, completely different issue
2. blender and stepping ss osis are completely different, and I think saying one is better than the other is meaningless. Torque is better than stepping op osis but we still see that a lot, and it's a great drilling tool.

I think muted ducking paradox moves look terrible. The extended wait caused by the bag's extra hang time looks and feels awkward to me on moves like ducking paradox mirage and tomahawk (and basically all the others). It seems like it breaks the guiltless flow. The flow isn't broken on paradox moves sans the ducking (in fact it's better), but that extra footwork seems like it positions you better for the dex and adds a little more to the move than otherwise.

For a few years i thought planting on any Paradox move would negate the Paradox, but it came up in discussion on this forum and i was told it was a stylistic thing and that it didnt really matter if you did plant. If i hit Ducking Pdx Mirage, i dont usually plant because its not too difficult to not plant on that trick, but for like Tomahawk or whatever, the plant makes the move much easier and nice looking.

I don't plant on ducking pdx mirage (the first 4 I ever hit, thanks to you Chris
)
Now when I try Ducking PS mirage it totally fux up my shit. I can't even come close to hitting it. I am not used to planting and you have to plant if you're going to hit this move symposium.
It's OK not to plant, IMO but for anything paradox symposium you need to plant your set foot, so it's probably a good idea to get in the habit of planting. Learning PS Mirage I almost had to start over again because I was so used to not planting my set foot.

Planting is definatly the most common and when I do/see one with no plant I generaly will note "no plant" in the name (kinda like with muted...)shredzilla wrote: So if I said 'Hey look, I just hit Ducking Pdx Mirage', and I planted before the dex, would I be wrong in saying so.
Not planting can look good or bad. "execution is about how easily you can hit a trick. "
I was always taught that on most pdx and gyro moves you shouldn't plant. But, now I don't think it matters. Although most of the time tricks look cooler non planted.
