Try hosting your shit at Modevia

Post by Splint »

When Jer first started Modified he was part owner of Modevia. He then disappeared from the community and modevia. His partner and friend Mike has kept a promise all these years that he would not charge any of the members of modified for hosting our forum.

Over the years Modevia has been very good to us by allowing modified to run totally free. At this point, modified has grown so much that we use more bandwidth than any of their other clients. It would be really great if some of you who pay to host your personal stuff elsewhere would contact [email protected] and check on his prices. It's a nice way to offer a little something back to someone who has helped us so much.

Thanks

Wow. I'm not in a position to host anything myself, but if I ever am I'll check there first. Just want to say, thanks Mike, I was not aware of your generosity... it is appreciated! Modified is helping a lot of footbaggers in a lot of ways, thanks for making that possible.

members who switch to Modevia a discount rate of 7.00/month. This
account will be good for any kind of personal (blogs, etc.),
organization, or small business sites that people have. Ignore the
limitations stated on our website. If it's a site they know uses a ton
of disk space or bandwidth, I will ask them to be on a bigger plan.
I just forgot to ask if that's US or CAN currency.

Wow. I'm just starting a .com small business. I will definitely do my part to support someone that helps footbag. This is great that I caught wind of this topic.

I'm setting up a little email service for me and some close friends right now. Mike is cool because he is making it very cheap

Mike at Modeva gave me permission to post this, which might give you a better idea of where he's coming from.

A more impressive graph would be to overlay the time line of flame wars over that chart.

wow, looks like footbag has been experiencing steady growth...

I always wondered why this site had certain....idk, wabisabi about it, no adds....
Just throwing this out there....maybe the stitchers could donate the proceeds of one bag per yr.....you know for a site they probably learned alot from and have made some money from those skills. idk, seems reasonable/nice to the incredibly generous person that hosts us for free. plus maybe we could get some new smileys, cause those < just dont really convey my emotions well, i mean, the laughing one looks like a mental patient, i can picture the straight jacket

I promise I'll start stitching soon
