Should we have a footbag freestyle FAQ for n00bs

Post by Splint »

It'd be a way to try and cut down on the vast amount of ridiculously boring topics.

Yeah, we could basically piece a bunch of stickies together. What I mean more specifically is cutting/pasting all the good stuff and make it look neat (like FAQs are).

I don't think it would/has help(ed) at all.

I have never seen that sticky before - and I'm sure most people will just ignore one.

I won't critique the content, it is a step in the right direction.

But.

A FAQ is not a never ending paragraph.

It is a LIST of Frequently Asked Questions

Below the LIST of Frequently Asked Questions,
the Questions are relisted with the answers beneath them.

If we had something in this format, when people ask a frequent question,
we could just say go read TFFAQ.

As one of the most senor n00bs here I don't think it would help. I will keep on posting boring topics about the new single dex moves I have invented and about the older tricks which I have chosen to rename.

Alright.... since that one sounds like it won't help why don't any of you try making one? It's better the expecting someone else to do it for you right?!

EDIT:I'm not trying to sound like an asshole here. That's an honest question.

Sorry Jon, I don't think that qualifies even as a senior n00b. Or did you mean to say "senor" in the context that you are a "Man" n00b?

What we need is a wiki (like: www.wikipedia.org) to sit alongside modified.

The wiki will be the FAQ, members can update it to keep it up-to-date. Ultimately it should contain vast amounts of info in an easy to find format thus avoiding hordes of boring redundant topics on modified.

The wiki will have the info, modified will be used for discussion (about the info, about new info, about whatever).

A lot of internet forum have reverted to the use of a wiki along with their forum.

Dude RTFF !!!!

Q. 117. Are all people smart enough to use this FAQ ?
A. Absolutely not, but answering their questions only encourages the spread of idiocracy. Refer such induhviduals to this faq anyway.

Does the FAQ have to be a modified .php page that we create like every thread and post???

Or can we designate a FAQ person to update a static HTML file that is hosted on modified???

I have demo code for a FAQ with expanding and contracting Answer panels.

Just curious as to how modified can go about creating one of these. Ofcourse logically it would need to be searchable, so that idea may not work.

Any suggestions?

I do not think it should be a thread.

Threads suck. Nobody looks at the stickies, and other threads get burried.

Just a nice link to static HTML content would be fine.
