I listened to an amusing CD the other day and at one point they exposed Star Trek as a conspiracy of racism.

Federation = USA/White guys
Klingons = Black people
Vulcans = The French
Cardassians = China
Romulans = Korea
Ferengis = Jews
Bjorans = Any repressed social group who uses militant means to achieve freedom.

So I guess...
The USS Enterprise = Big Brother
The Dominion = The Bush Administration

No wonder I thought the show was about a utopian world in the future.

I miss the original tv show, it had effects, long before there was anything special about them.

That sounds like the "ST: Deep Space Nine" races specifically.

I don't know when the newer alien races were created, or if they were created by Roddenberry himself.


But you could say the Bjorans were the repressed social groups, who are only free from the Dominion, thanks to the protection provided by the USA/White guys.

The Vulcans can't be French, because they would have surrendered, or been defeated by the non-Federation races.

They to, in modern Star Trek storyline, probably depend on the Federation to keep them "free".


The Cardassians can't be China, because they get almost completely wiped out by their 2 other Dominion "allies".

The Cardassians have to be some other country, China is one of those other Dominion races.
