Sweet! I can understand Afrikaans!!

I'm working on run length too, but hardly get 20+! Keep up the good stuff yo.

So my Nederlands het die afgelope ruk baie verbeter.

EDIT: For those of you that don't know, my first language is Afrikaans (one of 11 official languages in South Africa), that evolved from Dutch, and there is still alot of similarities between the two languages, to the extent that speakers of each language can make themselves easily understood by speakers of the other.

Just had my first session of the week. Didn't really have time to play, so it was short. But it felt good.

I had a stepping epiphany...planting the setting foot quickly. Wow, it sounds so simple, but it helped me getting a small, powerful set, giving me more time to dex. From there ripwalk > ripwalk and blur BSOS came naturally. Also hit dimwalk > blur > dimwalk > pdx mirage midstring. I was a bit surprised with the first 3 moves, meant I completely bailed on the last blur. But I'll hit the full combo soon. The rest of the session I just messed around with some runs, which went quite good. All in all a good session.

Its 07:31 right now, and I have not slept. I have to leave for a client at 13:00, and I still have a helluva lot of work to do before then. I doubt I'll finish.
While working, I also had the chance to watch some of the most bizarre films that I've ever seen:

- first Rabbits by David Lynch. Not much to say...David Lynch is a strange man. I only watched the first episode, and its fucking bizarre. Really.

- Gummo, a really weird film by Harmony Korine (of the Kids fame). I didn't really know what to expect, but I can safely say, the movie was nothing like I expected. Its kinda documentryish, about the poor (so-called "white trash") in a city in Ohio. It was disturbing, very strange, and I'll have to watch it again before making my final verdict on whether I like it or not. But in a way I did...

EDIT: footbag...hmmm....I had 2 sessions since my previous entry. I am really happy with my progress at the moment. Stepping and pixie sets are really getting more to a level where I can throw them in midstring. Spinning, ducking/diving is almost dialled (well, to some extent atleast). BOPs are now easy bails. whirls and drifters need some work. Strong atomic is not to bad, flip atomic is still non-existant. And lastly, I figured out swirls, I'll be hitting them midstring (both sides) very soon. Next expected session: Sunday?!? will be away on business for today, sat. and early sun. :?

Just did something I haven't done in a long time...smoked a cigarette, and damn...did it taste good. Its weird, I don't really know how I feel about it, its been almost a year to the day since I'd quit, and I can count the number of drags I took since then on my left hand's thumb and index finger (that's right, I can count to two on my flipside)

I blame this new development on a couple of things:
- extreme fatigue (I've been awake for 28 hours now)
- stres (deadline is looming at 13:00, and I'm not nearly finished)
- watching Coffee and Cigarettes earlier in the week. Seriously, if you are an ex-smoker, do not watch this flick, it will turn you back to the dark side. If not, watch it, its a good film.
- d-Norpseudoephedrine, ie the stuff that they put in slimming pills. Its suppose to suppress your appetite, but all it does is it keeps you awake (by acting on the central nervous system), and I sometimes take it for that purpose (ie, last night), but it always makes me crave cigarettes, don't know why.

Hmmm, kinda in two minds right now. Fuck it, I'll have another and worry about it later...

Bad news, for reasons beyond my control, I will not be going to the US. I'm very dissapointed, but there is nothing I can do about it. I've given Duncan the names of a couple of players in the US, and I believe they have been in contact with them (or should be very soon), and I believe their campaign will be a great success. I'm glad Steve Brown decided to join and address some of the misconceptions and concerns regarding Duncan's involvement in footbag. I believe it will be beneficial for both the community and Duncan alike.

Anyways, in preparation for my intended trip I've been playing quite alot, for my standards in anycase. I'm quite happy with my game at the moment. I've been working mostly on guiltless dexless play, spinning, ducking and diving. Sooo close to double spinning stuff. Also improved my consecutive ducking record to 26.

I'm also starting to integrate various components and sets that I have been working on into my game, and hope that in a month or two I'll have a more diverse base to work from.

Areas that I'm not happy with is whirls and single leg double dexes, especially on my flip side. My knee on that side keep giving me problems, and although I'm almost completely both sided in all other aspects of my game, I starting to feel that its not worth it to continue to put stress on that knee. This is hampering those components on my strong side, since I always do everything both sides, and as a result, have been neglecting doing ANY of those components, even on my strong side. So I'm thinking to limit whirls and double downs to my strong side, unfortunate, but it seems the best solution (for now atleast).
