My morning habits definately affect my morning shred. I never eat breakfast on school days because it's to early and everything tastes like crap. I would always play before school and during our 15 minute break after first block. I would tire easily and didn't really have much energy until after I had lunch.
You guys probably haven't heard this old saying before... Breakfast is the Most Important meal of the day!
That being said, I used to skip breakfast all the time and had trouble staying awake in every class, until I ate lunch. Hmm...
Then I started eating breakfast, and I had energy all day! Then I stepped it up another notch, and started eating Healthy breakfast everyday (eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, banana, etc) and I have never felt better or been healthier.
I think one of the main factors in my shred level fluctuation is food related. I always eat breakfast but not enough because time is a problem in the morning before school. Usually three slices of toasted bread covered with peanut butter or a bowl of cereal. Then when I get to lunch I eat shit because I don't have time to make a lunch in the morning, or I don't eat at all. Lunch(if i have it) usually consists of pizza fries and soda and this, while tasting good, is gonna kill me before im 25. So im gonna change some of this stuff and hopefully be able to shred at a consistent level. The other factor in shred fluctuation is lack of sleep.
10 weetabix for me. great carb food but u dont want to be playing in the same room as me lols cos they give you a whole new aroma if you get where im comin from lols.
but yeah! breakfast rules. eat it an shred happy!
I really only have two days out of the week that I can eat breakfast. Normally I don't, and I don't have any problems throughout the day.
Lately for breakfast I've been having a small glass of milk at home, then when I get to school I'll have a Arizona Iced Tea and maybe a donut. But usually I don't get the donut and just have the ice tea.
On days I shred, which is usually one day a week, I normally don't have anything to eat until right before the shred. That's where I'll have something like chex mix or trail mix, and nibble on that all throughout the session.

I would feel really out of it if I didn't have my breakfast. My concentration and physique would be much worse than before without it.

Back in my twenties I could wake up late sunday morning jump on my bike and ride 7-8 miles and shred for hours before getting anything to eat. There's no freakin way I could do that now I would burn out and struggle the rest of the day without eating a big breakfast. Just as long as it's not too greasy, I'm good to go.
Besides, I get cranky when I'm hungry.
