Well I am so sorry you guys we didn't make it down. You know I tried and I came prepared as well. I'll make it up to all of you in Seattle though for SJFF.
Did you know it takes the same amount of time to get from Spokane to Boise as it does Seattle even though Spokane is as close to Boise as Seattle is to Portland. There is not a direct route from spokane. I was so upset when I found this out sat. morning!!!! What's up Boise, can't put a freeway in between there and Spokane, what the dilly-O. So next time we'll take I-82 and see you promptly.
I can't wait to hear how this tourny went down. We missed you all.

Haven't had time to post earlier, but wanted to throw a shout out to the Idaho Jam, it was a great time! Thanks Daryl, Sunny, Jim, Dylan, and Cameron for putting everyone up. Stefan, Nick, and myself arrived Thursday night, apparently the Freedom posse had already had a live webcam shred with Allan Haggett, I later saw Jim perform his Shred 30, something like 268 or so. Pretty intense. He has stepped it up a great deal since the Open, I know Jim's game pretty well, and still pretty impressed at a lot of what he brought, but a bit about that in a moment.

Immediately after jumping out of the car, Nick laid it down, got lots of great vid that surpasses his work on Nick Landes vs the Gorillaz. Next to Jim, I would say he easily threw down the loftiest stuff that weekend. Lon was injured, but hit some really good combos in spite of that, and Luis also stepped it up from the US Open, best I have seen him kick yet by far, a worthy successor to Lon's style. Daryl was also kicking better than I have seen him kick in a while, one combo that stood out was Fog-Smog-Pixie Butterfly-repeat. After shredding Thursday night, we kicked it until the sun came up essentially, Daryl is pretty obsessed with his new hot tub. I told him it is not going to help him win our bet, but more on that in a moment.

Friday we all went to see Tony Jaa's new film, The Protector. I highly recommend it. Not much plot, just set up for some super intense and amazing fight scenes. Even more ass kicking than Ong Bak.

We performed two shows on stage to pretty large crowds Saturday and Sunday, everyone freestyled except for Lon, who was injured, and myself, who ended up MC'ing the event. Everyone executed the demo very well both days, Jim showed a new dropless routine that reminded me much of Vaska's second day World's routines ie- thunderous and very difficult. He also seemed to develop a fan club, girls in the audience were screaming "we love you Jim!" while he was playing.

Nick headed up a great glow bag session one night, I believe they spent 50$ on glow sticks, and everyone shredded with Stefan's very nice freestyle glow bag. We attached glow tubes to our feet, which made for some very interesting and visual shred. Dylan broke open the sticks and threw the contents all over himself, but quickly realized it might be quite toxic and washed it off. Glow Foursquare followed shred. Meanwhile, outside, Scott Behmer and another group of people were playing fire hack, and of course much chaos insued. Good fun however.

The event was a great time all in all, very chill and laid back, everyone kicking back, having a good time and playing it loose. We had a great Sunday night jam, I believe the circle was Lon, Jim, Stefan, Luis, and myself. What I remember about this session was two things, no one was dropping the bag too much (many 20+ combos from everyone in the circle), and secondly I thought my left knee was going to fall off. I was very thankful when Jim threw his shoes off, that was a good time to wrap it up.

To get back to the Penske report, I saw quite a few very good things. All in one session (our last session), a few things I saw Jimbo hit were:

Blurrage-Pixie Paradon-repeat into long combo
Baroque-Blurriest-repeat into long combo
Flurry-Symposium Whirl-repeat into combo
Alpine Torcher Rack into combo, same combo Arch Nemesis and other hard Alpine moves
A lot of weird Phasing moves (Phasing Barrage), as well as Surging stuff

Then he capped the session off with 62 fours in row, he wasn't that happy when he dropped on 62 either, it looked like he could have taken it another 20 fours at least.

A session previous he hit Blurry Baroque both sides, Scorpion Tail-Blurrier-Blurriest-repeat, and although I did not see him seal it, he was going for Nemesis Rake, I believe he told me he had hit it. Great stuff all around, and a lot of new creativity and variety.

Nick and Stefan left Monday morning at 7am, no sleep for them. I ended up staying until Thursday when I had to get back to Portland for some business. Daryl and Sunny are great hosts, and their shred room is very sweet. Next year we are going to make the event even more official while working to keep intact the fun laid back spirit that made this year great.

Lastly I would like to mention our bet. There was a time when both Daryl and I were considerably lighter, but I was always heavier than him. These many years later we jumped on his scale, and behold, Daryl now carries the award of heaviest freestyler between us. From there the bet was born. We both have to lose a certain amount of weight and hold that weight for at least 30 days. I am confident I will beat him, for a couple of reasons.
A)The hot tub
B)The hot tub requires the consumption of beer as an offering (especially for Daryl)

This coupled with the fact pizza is popular in the house, I figure I have this bet aced, granted I can stay strong while staying at the Freedom Shredquarters. We shall see...
