The American dream (foreigners only)
The American dream (foreigners only)
This is for people from a country besides the United States. I need to know your opinion on what you think the American dream is, doesnt have to be long or anything, just sum it up. thanks. (P.S.- this is for homework)

Wow, sorry I didn't notice this before, hope your homework wasn't due yet.
I think the original American Dream (17-18th century) was all about being fed up with rules, restrictions and hierarchy. Someone who 'lived the dream' was someone who left town and set up an own community to impose his/her own rules and to lead his/her own life independent from anyone else.
Anyway, that's pretty much what my former professor of American literature told me. That was over a year ago, that's why it sounds a little choppy and simplistic I guess.
Anyway, I remember the original idea of the American Dream sounded pretty good to me at the time.
It wasn't until later that the American Dream got a taste of money making and 'from zero to hero' to it.
